Esther Richardson dies at home here
Esther Richardson, 82, Augusta, died yesterday at her home.
Her funeral service will be 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Campbell Funeral Home chapel in Eureka. Rev. David Jennings will officiate and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery there.
She was born Jan. 28, 1905 near Severy as a daughter of Elmer A. and Essie Mills Ward.
Her early education was at Twin Falls Grade School and she graduated from Climax High School. She later attended Emporia State Teachers College and taught three years in Greenwood County schools.
On Dec. 18, 1926, she and Ernest C. Richardson were united in marriage at Yates Center. The lived on farms near Toronto and Gridley before relocating to Eureka in 1971.
Survivors include a son, Hugh of Augusta, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with the Eureka Church of the Nazarene where she was a member. Mrs. Richardson also held membership in the Delia Croft chapter Order of Eastern Star, the Greenwood County Historical Society, and the Greenwood County Hospital Auxiliary.

Douglass woman’s father dies at 91
John H. Schick, 91, Tampa, father of Florence Weishaar of Douglass, died Saturday, Jan. 9.
His funeral service was today at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tampa.
Other survivors include a son, Marvin of Harrisonville, Mo.; another daughter, Dolores Backhus of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Rachel Berg of Sacramento, Calif., and Mary Helbach of Herington; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Kansas State University Cancer Research Department have been suggested.
The Donahue Funeral Home at Herington is in charge of arrangements.

Don Young funeral tomorrow
Don N. Young, 75, of Augusta, rancher, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1988.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Immanuel Baptist Church in Wichita. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Cochran Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangements.
Young was born April 14, 1912 to Richard and Belle Green Young in Valley Center.
On Nov. 13, 1942, he and the former Alta Todd were married in Fayetteville, Ark.
His survivors include: wife, Alta; son, Donald of Wichita; sister, Ruby Bargree of Salina; five grandchildren.

Augustan’s sister dies Monday at 48
LaVena J. Osburn, 48, of Wichita, Andover Middle School cook, sister of Mike Nutter of Augusta, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1988.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita and burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Osburn was born July 24, 1939 to Oscar L. and LaVena Bell Dor-nan Nutter in El Dorado.
In addition to her brother here, survivors include: husband, Loyd; sosn, Ricky L. of Scotland, Raymond L., Dale L., both of Wichita; daughters, Carol C. Smizaski of Spokane, Wash., Tammy L. at home; brothers, Richard Nutter of Springdale, Ark., Bill Nutter of Boise, Idaho, John Nutter of Wichita; stepbrother, Gene Gray of Spokane; six grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

Giarettas to attend memorial service
A memorial service will be held Friday in Ponca City for Catherine Mauging, 77, of Poplar Blubb, Mo., sister of Ruday Giaretta of Augusta, who died yesterday at 4 a.m.
Trout Funeral Home in Ponca City has Friday’s memorial arrangments.

Augustan’s mother died yesterday
Helen M. Hite, 64, of Andover, a retired employee of Beech Aircraft, mother of Ronald of Augusta, died yesterday.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita. Burial will be in Andover Cemetery.
Hite was born March 10, 1923 to Frank and Rose Pasels in Dorrance, Kan.
In addition to her son here, survivors include: sons, Verlin, Myron, both of Wichita, Harold of Andover; rother, Ernest Pasels of Dorrance; six grandchildren.

Glenn W. Baker funeral tomorrow
Glenn W. “Bill” Baker, 80, retired farmer and rancher, of Cottonwood Falls, father of Patricia Dawson of Leon, died yesterday.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home.
In addition to his daughter in Leon, survivors include: wife, Carolyn; son, Glenn W. Jr. of Towanda; borther, Ed of Panama City, Fla.; sister, Beulah Pinkston of Chicago; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Chase County EMS c/o Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home.
