Augustan’s father died in El Dorado
John C. Governski II, 75, of El Dorado, retired experimental machinist for Beech Aircraft Corp., son of John III of Augusta, died yesterday.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Catholic Church in El Dorado. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Additional services and burial will be Saturday in Colorado.
Governski was born May 25, 1912 to John and Anna Rembish Governski in Rockville, Colo.
In addition to his son here, survivors include: daughters, Janice Edwards of Manhattan, Marilyn Berends of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Emily Toth of Canon City, Colo., Fran Gallop of Rockville, Colo., Honey Sowey of Clinton, Mich., May Boscoe of Hazel Park, Mich., Clara Berner of Dearborn, Mich.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with Mooseheart.

Bertha McCoy rites Wednesday
Bertha McCoy, 82, a former resident of WaKeeney, died Sunday, Jan. 17, at the Walnut Valley Manor nursing home here.
Her funeral service will be 10 o’clock Wednesday morning at the Assembly of God Church in WaKeeney with burial in the cemetery there. The Morell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Earl McCoy of Augusta; a daughter, Shirley Page of Littleton, Colo., five granddaughters, one grandson, and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorials to the cancer fund and/or Assembly of God Church at WaKeeney have been suggested.

Russell Hiedeman funeral tomorrow
Russell G. “Pete” Hiedeman, 83, of El Dorado, retired contractor, father of Marvin of Leon, died Sunday, Jan. 17.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Hiedeman was born Oct. 18, 1904 to Henry K. and Dora Wall-worth Hiedeman in Garden Prairie, I11.
On April 30, 1932, he and Etta Mae Thomas were married in El Dorado. She preceded him in death Dec. 8, 1983.
In addition to his son in Leon, survivors include: sons, Russell, Ivan, Alvin, Rex, all of El Dorado; brother, Henry of El Dorado; sisters, Lillian Wall, Elsie Marley, Esther Bonnel, Florence, all of El Dorado; 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren.

John King died yesterday
John King, 76, farmer and stockman, of Beaumont, died yesterday.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in Blankenship Cemetery in Rosalia.
King was born July 7, 1911 to Orval and Sophie Winn King near Salyards, Kan.
His survivors include: wife, Orral B.; stepson Jerry Davis of Beaumont; stepdaughters, Joyce Johnson of Beaumont, Mary Sullivan of Fountain Valley, Calif.; brother, O.M. of El Dorado; sisters, Ora Wright of Winfield, Treva Harvey of Buffalo, Mo., Leona Kluthe of Springfield, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Helen B. Thomas funeral Friday
Helen Hainline Thomas, 75, of Wichita, mother of Larry Thomas of Augusta, died yesterday at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Broadway Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Jim Taylor of Riverview Christian Church will officiate the services. Burial will be in Rest Haven Garden of Memory.
Thomas was born Oct. 21, 1912 in Kinsley to Tom and Marietta Hainline.
In addition to the son here, she leaves two daughters, Mary Beth Simmon of Wichita, Barbara Gates of Walnut Shade, Mo.; brother, Tom Hainline of Grass Valley, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

William E. Speer memorial today
William E. Speer, 60, of Towanda, Towanda Plumbing Co., died Friday, Jan. 22, at his home.
A memorial service was held this afternoon at the Towanda United Methodist Church. Rev. Fred Houston officiated at the service.
Survivors are wife, Ida; stepsons, Steven Shadoin of Towanda, Danial Shadoin of Arkansas City; stepdaughters, Shirley Alcorn, Rebecca Glock, Linda Shadoin, all of Towanda, Carolyn Shadoin of New Orleans; six step-grandchildren; two step-grandchilden; two-step-great-grand-children.
Speer was a member of Towanda United Methodist Church, and the American Legion at Andover. He was also a veteran of World War II.
A memorial has been established with Youth With A Mission, Cimarron, Colo. 81220.
