Ina M. Berger funeral Saturday
Homemaker and former Douglass resident Ina M. Berger, 87, Winfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Miles Mortuary chapel in Winfield with William Peterson and Berlin Raymond officiating. Burial will be in the Douglass Cemetery.
She was born March 10, 1900 in Texas to William and Mary Wooten Hicks.
She married John W. Berger in Stillwater, Okla., in 1929. He preceded her in death in 1951.
Mrs. Berger leaves a son, Charles Berger of Augusta; a daughter, Laura Weidman of Winfield; a sister, Nona Berger of Yuma, Ariz.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Winfield Public Library have been suggested.

Former Augustan dies in California
Lena Bates Onfer, 75, retired office administrater, of Chino, Calif, died Friday, Feb. 5 died after a lengthy illness. She has been ill since last May when she had a leg amputation because of artheritis.
Services and burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg. Rev. Christian Schonberg will officiate the services.
She was born Nov. 29, 1912 to William and Maude Bates near Augusta. After graduating from Augusta High School in 1930, she married John Onfer. Prior to his death in 1966 the couple resided in Girard and Pittsburg. In 1978, she moved to Calif, where she lived the rest of her life.
Survivors are sons, Richard of El Segundo, Calif, Warren Onfer of Ontario, Calif; and a brother Frank Bates of Burton. She is preceded in death by brothers, Harvey, Charles; and one sister Blanch Roblin.

Graveside service for M.W. Blackwell
Homemaker Margaret W. Blackwell, 85, 1206 Helen, died Thursday, Feb. 11, at Augusta Medical Complex Inc.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate.
She was born Oct. 31, 1902 to Mattie Lee Clarkston and William J. Gravely in Missouri.
On Jan. 3, 1922, she married V.R. “Dick” Blackwell in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1962.
Survivors are son, Quentin of Little Rock, Ark; nieces, Earlene Burns of Augusta, Pat Clayton of El Dorado, Betty Ball of Overland Park, Barbara Flint, Frances Pipperger, both of Leawood, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Walnut Valley Manor of Augusta. Arrangements were made by Dunsford Funeral Home.

Allan B. Eacrett dies at hospital
Retired engineer Allan Bisbee Eacrett, 78, of Wichita, died Thursday, Feb. 11, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel.
He was born Dec. 6, 1908 to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Eacrett in Hollywood, Calif.
On Nov. 3, 1939 he married Dorothea F. Anderson in Hollywood, Calif, she survives.
Mr. Earcett was employed by Boeing, Hughes, North American, Northrup and LockheedAs an aeronautical engineer. He was the owner of the Elmtree Stables, a member of the American Saddle Club and a lifetime member of the Los Angeles Musicians Union.
He is survived by his daughter Thea at home
Funeral arrangements were made by Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Elma Groendycke dies on Thursday
Homemaker Elma Groendycke, 86, Medicine Lodge, mother of Augustan Donna J. Irving, died Thursday, Feb. 11, at her home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the First Christian Church of Medicine Lodge and burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge. Rev. Thomas Walters will officiate the services.
She was born Oct. 4 1901 to Liz June Newton and Bruce Hensley in Madison, Mo. She married Lynn Talbott Aug. 14, 1928 in Winfield. Elma was a member of the First Christian Church of Medicine Lodge, the Plesant Hill EHU, the Pixley Birthday Club, Farm Bureau and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors are daughters, Peggy E. Vincent of Broomfield, Colo., Pattie I. Groendycke, Doris E. Bell, both of Wichita, and Leigh Groendycke of Medicine Lodge; brother, Arvel Hensley of Wichita; sisters, Lura Rickard of Medicine Lodge and Troye Rose of Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church of Medicine Lodge.
