Augustan’s mother dies at hospital
Homemaker and retired El Dorado Elks Lodge cook Eunice Pierce, 86, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. She was the mother of J.C. Pierce of Augusta.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park at El Dorado.
She was born Nov. 24, 1901 to William and Buelah Dutton Sisson in Iowa.
On Feb. 11, 1923, she married Charlie Dwight Pierce in El Dorado.
Other survivors are: a sister, Ellry Mullins of Stanton, Ky.; a brother, Lawrence Sisson of Lexington, Ky.; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established with the United Methodist Church of El Dorado. Funeral arrangements were made by Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.

Weldon W. Reagor Sr. dies at home
Weldeon Wilday Reagor Sr., 72, 35 Cliff Drive, died today at his home.
There will be no funeral service for this veteran of World War II. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve.
Memorials may be made to Augusta Medical Complex Inc.
He was born Oct. 28, 1915 at LaJunta, Colo., to Erle Palma and Ada Viola (Wilday) Reagor.
Reagor married the former Janet McFarland on Jan. 20, 1940 in a ceremony at Bridgeport, Neb.
Survivors include sons Weldon Reagor Jr. of Augusta, and Cameron Reagor of Muscat, Oman. A son, Dorman, preceded him in death. He also leaves a sister, Miriam Landegren of Village Mills, Texas, and eight grandchildren.
Charles G. Poindexter dies in Nebraska
Charles G. Poindexter, 70, former Leon resident and retired oil field worker, died Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Neb.
His funeral will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Feb. 20, at Bethel Missionary Church in Culbertson, Neb., before being moved to Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. A graveside service will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery here 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22. Bill Buggeln will officiate.
There will be a viewing at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday.
Poindexter was born Feb. 19, 1917 to John Franklin Poindexter and Lily Renee Tredway in Olney, I11. He attended grade school and graduated high school at Leon in 1935. On Jan. 20, 1937, he married Gladys Watson in Burrton.
After the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 he joined the U.S.
Army and was overseas in the European Theater. In 1962 the family moved to Trenton, Neb. He was affiliated with the Bethel Missionary Church in Culbertson, Neb., and the American Legion.
Survivors are wife, Gladys; sons, Larry of McCook, Neb., Gary of Stratton, Neb.; sisters, Maxine Algrim of Augusta, Margaret Albright of Topeka and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
