Albert Hill
I remember Albert, engrossed in
the world series game,
Sitting in that rocking chair, his
eye on that square frame.
And no one could rouse him, but
no one was to blame.
For Albert was a sports fan —
The A number one sports fan, that
none could jar away
From the stadium or the TV set,
when sportsmen were at play.
But wait a minute, in his youth, he
had as his arena,
The oil fields where he toiled, and
worked on the deserted plain.
He toiled from dawn to dusk,
which soon brought him wealth
and fame.
For Albert was a sports fan —
An A number one sports fan that
none could jar away
From the stadium or the radio
when sportsmen were at play.
Like a Roman gladiator of old, as
many of them told,
