Dunsworth funeral tomorrow
Ewell E. Dunsworth Sr., 60, rural Augusta, died Thursday, April 21, at Riverside Hospital in Wichita.
His funeral service will be 2:30 tomorrow afternoon at the Andover Cemetery with Rev. Gus Kubish officiating.
Dunsworth was born to Frank H. and Hazel M. (Moore) Dunsworth on Aug. 24, 1927 in Kansas.
He married Sheila C. Blaker on Aug. 22, 1956, in Truth Or Consequences, N.M. She survives.
Dunsworth also leaves three sons, Ewell E. Jr. of Augusta, James W. of Anderson, Mo., and Claude E. of Topeka; two daughters, Kathrine Ayres of Augusta and Ethel Bruch of Kingman; a sister, Opal M. Hildreth of Ulysses; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Dunsworth was a retired truck driver and machine operator. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Souders dies at hospital
Anita (Marshall) Souders, 81, Leon, died Thursday, April 21, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at Leon United Methodist Church. Rev. Keith Mace will officiate and the burial will be in the Leon Cemetary.
Souders was born Jan. 1, 1907 to William and Lynda Marshall, at Leon.
In 1927, she and James Souders were united in marriage in Leon.
She was a retired Leon State Bank teller and an active member in the United Methodist Church. She also belonged to Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine. Souders was also a Charter Member of the Quest Club.
Survivors include one brother, Dr. William S. Marshall Jr. of San Jose, Calif; and two sisters, Arlone Boley, and Ruth Marshall, both of Leon.
A memorial has been established with Leon United Methodist Church.

Helen Stackley dies in accident
Helen Stackley, 87, Cassoday, was killed when her automobile left a gravel road in northeast Butler County Sunday afternoon and struck a fence post.
Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Stackley are pending.
According to a sheriff’s office report, Mrs. Stackley was thrown from her vehicle by the impact with the fence post and pinned beneath the car until she was found by family members.
Alfred Nixon dies at Winfield hospital
Alfred J. Nixon, 72, Douglass, died Saturday, April 23, at the Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
His funeral will be tomorrow Tuesday afternoon, April 26, at 2 o’clock, at the First Baptist Church in Douglass. Rev. Jonnie Alter will officiate and burial will be in the Douglass Cemetery.
Nixon was born May 25, 1915 in Ralston, Okla, to Willian and Enda Nixon.
On Nov. 25, 1945 he married Muriel Jordan in Winfield.
Nixon was a retired farmer and a WSU maintenance worker. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Muriel, son Dane of Douglass and daughter Judy Chuculate of Arkansas City, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ella Edwina Lewis funeral Wednesday
Ella Edwina Lewis, 73, Augusta, died today, April 25, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at the Elmwood Cemetery here with Rev. Jon Grissom of First Christian Church officiating.
She was born here Dec. 23, 1914 as a daughter of Vern and Ella Fulton Hall.
On Dec. 8, 1931, she and Ray W. Lewis were united in marriage during a ceremony in McPherson. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lewis was a retired employee of Ballinger’s Catering Service. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Lewis leaves a daughter, Betty Dencklau of Tacoma, Wash.; two grandchildren, Shelby Henderson and Grant Dencklau, and two great-grandchildren, Chad and Colby Henderson.
Memorials to the American Lung Association and/or the American Diabetes Association.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Augustan’s sister dies in Cold water
Margaret E. Coles, 68, Coldwater, sister of Geneva Peters of Augusta, died Friday, April 22.
Her funeral service was this afternoon at the Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home at Coldwater.
In addition to the sister here, she leaves her husband, Jack; a son, Darold of Coldwater; daughters, Sherry Herrmann of Hutchinson, Debra Coles Schmidt of Pratt; brothers, Howard Kurth of Alva, Okla., and Gilbert Kurth of Independence; sisters, Roberta Busses of Alva, Loretta Poison of Kinsley, Beatrice Wheatley of Cambridge, Ohio, Ivalene Pippen of Tulsa, Okla., and Eulaha Roberts of Moore, Okla.; five grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Heart Association have been suggested.
