Eva L. Long service Thursday
Eva Lorena Long, 92, of Augusta, died Tuesday May 3 at
Walnut Valley Manor nursing home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, in the Hiatville Cemetery, Hiatville.
A retired postmaster, she was a member of the First Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star-White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She was born March 7, 1896, near Fort Scott, to Phillip Boyd and Helen Stanley.
She married Neal J. Long on Nov. 26, 1926, in Hiatville. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, Louise Hanshaw, Augusta; a brother, Edward Boyd, Winzer, Mo.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Hiatville Methodist Church have been suggested.
Mother died in Arkansas
Cora Harp, 84, Hartford, Ark., mother of Norma Cauthron of Augusta, died at her home in Hartford on Thursday, April 28.
Her funeral service was Saturday, April 30, at McConnell chapel in Hartford. Burial followed in the Hartford Memorial Park cemetery.
Other Augusta area survivors include a granddaughter, Paula Pressnell and two great-grandsons, Curtis and Kyle Pressnell.

Jack Archer died Thursday
Jack Archer, 64, of Augusta, died Thursday, May 5, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, 1500 Cron. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Archer, a retired Beech Aircraft worker, was born June 14, 1923 to Walter and Stella Hoffman Archer in Ava, Mo.
He married R. Irene Davis in Ava on June 15, 1941. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, J.D. of Augusta; a daughter, Sonja Collier; brothers Fred of Ava; sisters, Helena Chocal, West Broomfield, Mich., Erma Williams, Park Ridge, I11., Clara Quincy, Milwaukee, Wisc., Blanche Lakey, Springfield, Mo., and Wanda Maggard, Sparta, Mo.; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His parents, a brother, Gene and a sister, Alice Pierce, preceded him in death.

Delmer J. Paul burial in Iowa
Cement worker Delmer J. Paul, 59, of Augusta, died today, May 9, at the Veterans Administration hospital in Wichita.
A private graveside service is planned at Mason City, Iowa. The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Dec. 27, 1928 in Mason City, Iowa, to John L. and Opal Ketchum Paul.
On June 12, 1970, he married the former Billie Jean Noe in Mason City. She survives.
Mr. Paul served in World War II and was a member of the DVA.
He also leaves five sons, Brian of the home, Mickel P. and David E., both of Augusta, John L. of Jefferson City, Mo., and Timothy James of Odessa, Texas; two daughters, Diana Kuntz of Charles City, Iowa, and Carol Gallo of Augusta; a sister, Billie Fistler of Towanda, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Marion F. Moore died Thursday
Retired ranch hand Marion F. Moore, 79, of Severy, father of Dwight Moore from Augusta, died Thursday, May 5.
His funeral was this afternoon at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka.
He is survived by his wife, Augusta; sons, Clifford of El Dorado, Sonny of Atlanta, Keith of Beaumont and Dwight of Augusta; daughters, Jo Ann Chapman of Little Rock, Ark., and Karren Beckerman of Garden City; sister, Ethel Phillips of Monte Vista, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association of Kansas.
Former Augustan died Thursday
Maxine Real, 68, a former Augusta area resident, died Thursday, May 5, in Wichita. She was a retired Boeing Military Airplane Co. clerical assistant.
Her funeral was Saturday afternoon at the Cochran Mortuary, Wichita.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest of Wichita; daughter, Pam Sage of Fountain Valley, Calif.; mother, Kathryn Loxley, Wichita; brothers Willis Loxley, Cambria, Calif., LaMoine Loxley, Wichita; sister Clarice Farmer, Wichita; and two grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
Hazel R. Secoy died Saturday
Hazel Rowena (Royal) Secoy, 95, of Augusta, died Saturday, May 7.
Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. tomorrow, May 10, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita.
Survivors include a son, Wesley “Jack” Vocell, of Yakima, Wash.; daughters, Cleo Howard, Mary Rohrig, both of Wichita, Esther McGillivary of Yakima; sister, Irene Demming of Colwich; 14 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.
