Wayne W. Barnes worked for Mobil
Wayne Winfield Barnes, 73, of Wichita, died Tuesday, June 21, at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Richard Sammers will officiate the service.
Barnes was born Aug. 9, 1914, to Thomas and Mary Barnes in Morrowville.
On June 30, 1935, he married Velma Lindsley in Miltonvale. She preceded him in death in 1973. In June of 1975, he married Helen Babcock. She survives of the home.
He worked for Mobil for 38 years and was affiliated with the Methodist church.
Barnes is survived by two sons, Dr. David Barnes of Atlanta, Dr. Tom Barnes of Wichita; daughter, Trudy Sammer of Denver; stepdaughter, Barbara Golka of Santa Maria, Calif.; brothers, Verlin of Morrowville, Harold of Washington, Don of St. Joseph, Mo.; sister, Vera Stanton of Morrowville; 13 grandhildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Heart Foundation or Cancer Foundation.
Norma Kirkpatrick dies in Arizona
Norma Evelyn Kirkpatrick, 68, of Mesa, Ariz., died Monday, June 20, at Hearthstone Nursing Home in Mesa. She grew up in rural Wichita and was a graduate of Andover High School.
Her memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Seltzer United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Leon Cemetery. Rev. Charlie Harrison will officiate the service.
Kirkpatrick was born March 3, 1920, to Thane H. and Marie (Patterson) Spencer in Wichita.
She married Lewis Kirkpatrick on Oct. 3, 1940 in Wichita. He survives.
Kirkpatrick, a homemaker, was a member of the Velda Rose Methodist Church in Mesa.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Ronald of Everett, Wash.; daughter, Janet Black of Wichita; sister, Thelma Heffel of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; one nephew.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Gideon's International.

Lucille Triplett memorial Friday
Lucille Hughey Triplett, 70, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, June 21. She was the sister of Hazel Shultz of Leon.
Her memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
In addition to her sister, she is survived by two sons, Lewis W. Hughey, Philip A. Hughey, both of El Dorado; brother, Wayne King of Bentonville, Ark.; sisters, Ophelia Milligan, Doris Smith, both of El Dorado, Audrey Gardner of Wichita; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of service arrangements.

Augustan’s brother died Wednesday
J. Douglas Gaston, 53, of Hays, died Wednesday, June 22. He was the brother of Delores Locke of Augusta.
His memorial service was at 1:30 today at Broadway Mortuary in Wichita.
Gaston, a former resident of Wichita and sales representative for Foxmeyer Drug Co., is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Troy A. of Palm Bay, Fla., Richard W. of Melbourne, Fla., Terry L. at home; brother, Donald R. of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for Gaston with Immanuel Baptist Church in Wichita.

Hazel Doornbos died at hospital
Hazel K. Doornbos, 69, Wichita, died Sunday, June 26, at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her funeral service will be 1 o’clock tomorrow afternoon, June 29, at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita.
She was born June 1, 1919 in Benton to Hiram and Fern Phares Wait.
She married Ralph Doornbos in 1939. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Raymond of Wichita, a daughter, Patricia Spurgeon of Houston, Texas, a sister, Luella Reiney of Wichita, and four grandchildren.

Douglass resident died Tuesday
John A. Tillman, 60, of Douglass, died Tuesday, June 28, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
A funeral mass will be held for Tillman 11 a.m. Friday at St. Teresah’s Catholic Church in Westphalia. Burial will follow in St. Teresah’s Cemetery, also in Westphalia. Friends and relatives will be allowed to visit the corpse from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at DeVorss-Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary in Wichita.
Tillman was born Nov. 29, 1927, to Fred J. and Lizzia (Heman) Tillman in Westphalia.
Survivors include four sisters, Gertrude Harper of Garnett, Helen Geise of Enterprise, Rita Covie of Wichita and Marie Starks of Kansas City, Kan.
A memorial has been established with St. Joseph Medical Center’s Coronary Care Center.
