Father Dies In Wichita
Lee Malcom, 84, Andover, father of Max Malcom of Augusta, died Tuesday, July 20, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Andover United Methodist Church. Rev. Gary Harms will officiate and burial will be in the Andover Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Andover United Methodist Church.
He was born Nov. 23, 1897 in Reese to Jared and Jennie Bowers Malcom.
He married Edith Allred March 17, 1918. She survives.
He was the retired owner of the Malcom Garage in Andover.
Survivors include three other sons, Charles Malcom and Dick Malcom, both of Andover, and Bob Malcom of Okmulgee, Okla.; two daughters, Patricia Rahal of Andover and Virginia Bontz of Plano, Texas; 22 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

C.R. Howard Dies At 88
Cecil Ray Howard, 88, 211 Wiley, died Tuesday, July 20, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Downing-Lahey Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Gary Harms will officiate and burial will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
He was born Feb. 22, 1894 in Wichita to James and Rachel Howard.
He married Elsie Erdwien. She survives.
He was a retired laborer.
Survivors include three sons, James Howard of Andover, Wilbur Howard of Wichita and Donald Howard of Grove, Okla.

E.W. Murphy Dies At 42
Everett Wayne Murphy, 42, Augusta, died today at St. Frances Hospital in Wichita.
His funeral will be 10 o’clock Friday morning at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Rev. George Goudie and Rev. Doyle Whitesel will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born May 18, 1940 in Augusta to Albert and Maxine Dewing Murphy.
He was a former city employee.
Other survivors include two brothers, Wilbur (Bill) Murphy of La Mesa, Calif., and Monty E. Murphy of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Kay Winter of Augusta, Lola Garst of Wichita and Norma Beasley of Neosho, Mo., and his mother, Maxine Murphy.

Rites Friday For L. Myers
Services for Larry D. Myers, 44, Rose Hill, will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Rose Hill Christian Church.
Pastor Larry Fry will officiate and burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Rose Hill Christian Church building fund.
Myers died Tuesday when the Cessna 152 he was piloting crashed near his parents rural Rose Hill farm.
He was born May 5, 1938 in Augusta to Robert and Tressa Powers Myers.
He married Vickie Lamborn Jan. 11, 1957 in Wichita. She survives.
He was an independent real estate appraiser. Other survivors include a son, Larry Myers of the home; two daughters, Julie Davis of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jana Reed of Rose Hill; parents, Robert and Tressa Myers of Rose Hill; brothers, Rob Myers of Augusta and Dennis Myers of Houston, Texas; a sister, Glenda Crouch of Wichita, and a grandmother, Erma Woyame of Wichita.

Memorial Set
A memorial has been established for Everett Murphy with the First Southern Baptist Church in Augusta for the Arthritis Fund.
Murphy, 42, Augusta, died Wednesday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Rev. George Goudie and Rev. Doyle Whitesel will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Maxine Murphy, his mother, is presently staying at the home of Kay Winter, a friend.
