Father died in Wichita
Eli V. Richardson, 76, Wichita, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, in Wichita. He is the father of Richard Richardson of Augusta.
The funeral service is set for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Mission Chapel Mausoleum, with interment to follow in the mausoleum. Rev. Ray Gilstrap, First Baptist Church, Augusta, will officiate.
Richardson, a former tool and die maker at Coleman and a retired sales person for Ernest-Eichman Tool Service, was born in Liberal March 20, 1912 to Eli Richardson and Cora Ditlow Richardson.
He married Faye Jackson in 1936 in Wichita. She survives.
Survivors include two sons, John of Wichita and Richard of Augusta; four brothers, Jim of Berrysville, Ark., Don of Bartlesville, Okla., Karl of Wichita, and Ben of Gila, Ari.; two grandchildren, Paula Ridgway and Eli D. Richardson, both of Augusta; and one great-grandson.
Memorials have been suggested the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 344 S. Laura, Wichita.
Broadway Mortuary, Wichita has the arrangements.

Roy E. Gerber died on Tuesday
Roy E. Gerber, 86, of Wichita and father of Pauline Dolbow of Douglass, died Tuesday, Aug. 2.
His funeral service will be Monday, Aug. 8, at the DeVorss Hunt-Flanagan Mortuary in Wichita.
He was born April 27, 1902 in Willow Springs, Mo.
Mr. Gerber was a member of the Masonic lodge 57, the Consistory, the York Right Council and the Cryptic Masons of Kansas.
In addition to his daughter, he leaves wife, Mina; son, Roy Jr. of Laveen, Ariz.; daughter Ellen Rose Bollin of Independence, Mo.; sister, Ardinell Lingenfelter of Wichita.
Memorials have been established with the Hospice of Wichita and the American Cancer Society.

John Hime died Tuesday
John Leonard Hime, 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.
Graveside services will be at 10 o’clock Saturday morning, Aug. 6, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Rev. Paul Gilbert and Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate.
Hime was born Feb. 13, 1907 in New Hampton, Mo., to Ralph Leroy Hime and Laura C. Reef.
On Dec. 15, 1928, he married Rosalie Blaine in Pratt. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Glenn E. Hime, of Tulsa; a daughter, Dorothy J. Kirkpatrick, Augusta; three brothers, Lee, Ralph and Vergil, all of Augusta, a sister, Christina Cron, El Dorado, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Lee.
Himes was a former city superintendent in Augusta and a retired employee of the Mobil Oil refinery. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Memorials have been suggested to the Methodist Church building fund.

Chester D. Payton dies at hospital
Chester Delbert Payton, 59, Wichita, brother of Ben Payton and Mamie Gillum, both of Douglass, died Friday, Aug. 5, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
A graveside service was held for Payton today, Aug. 8, at the Douglass Cemetery with Brian Little and Donnie Davis officiating.
He was born Sept. 27, 1928 in Oklahoma as a son of Ira Lee Pay-ton and Lillie Mae Howe Payton.
On Dec. 31, 1949, he married the former Gladys Edwards in a ceremony at Winfield. She survives.
Other survivors include a stepson, Robert Lytle of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Hodges and Nancy Mitchell, both of Hot Springs, Ark.; another brother, Melvin Payton of Howard; two other sisters, Belle Seward and Myrtle Seward, both of Minco, Okla.; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Heart Association have been suggested.
The Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home at Douglass was in charge of arrangements.

Larry Rhodes died on Sunday
Larry D. Rodes, 36, El Dorado, died Sunday, Aug. 7, in Pampa, Texas. He is the brother of Norman L. Rodes of Augusta.
The funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Kenneth Thee officiating. Burial will be at the Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Rhodes, a Halliburton employee, was born to Guy D. and Brabara Rhodes on May 15, 1952 in El Dorado.
Survivors include his wife, Monica; two children, Adam and Rebecca; father, Guy D. of Wichita; mother, Barbara Koogler of El Dorado; five brothers, Guy D. and Gary W. of El Dorado, Ricky K. of Stinette, Texas, LeRoy D. of Wichita and Norman L. of Augusta.
Memorials have been suggested to the Rhodes children.
Carlson Mortuary in El Dorado has the arrangements.
