Augustan’s sister died on Tuesday
Hazel Moore, 86, of Neodesha and sister of Viola Kline of Augusta, died Tuesday, Aug. 16.
Services will be Friday morning at 10 at the Neodesha Cemetery.
She was born to Fletcher and Nannie Ballard on Nov. 3, 1901 in Neodesha.
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.
Besides her sister, Viola, survivors include a son, Mike Hogan, brothers, Raymond Ballard, Harold Ballard all of Neodesha; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Loran Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha has the arrangements.

Delbert Shepler funeral Wednesday
Retired rancher Delbert F. Shepler, 77, Andover, formerly of Augusta, died Sunday, Aug. 21, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at St. James Catholic Church here. Bur-rial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery at Wichita.
A rosary will be said at 7:30 o’clock tomorrow night at the Carlson Colonial chapel in El Dorado.
He was born Sept. 26, 1910 in Wichita as a son of Pliny and Cora Wine Shepler.
On July 18, 1947, he married the former Norma Walker in a ceremony at Sedan. She survives.
Shepler was a member of St. James Catholic Church, St. James Knights of Columbus, American Cattleman Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Kansas Livestock Association, Butler County Livestock Association, Latham Lions Club, and a board member of Rock Creek Watershed District 6. He served in the army during World War II.
In addition to his wife, Shepler leaves a son, Delbert Jr. of Goddard; a daughter, Teresa McBeth of Latham; three sisters, Bessie Hall and Frances Shepler, both of Wichita, and Sandra Bugner of Garfield, Ark., and three grandchildren.
Memorials to the Kansas Lung Association have been suggested.

Augustan’s father died Friday
John Parker Barlow, 81, of Wichita and father of Bill Barlow of Augusta died Friday, Aug. 19.
Services were this morning at the Presbyterian Church in Coldwater.
He was born Oct. 7, 1906 in Coldwater.
John married Mildred “Peggy” Gibson on Aug. 4, 1934 in Minneola.
Besides his son of Augusta survivors include his wife, Peggy and one grandchild.
Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater has the arrangements.

Herbert C. Phelps funeral tomorrow
Herbert C. Phelps, 86, of Rose Hill died Saturday, Aug. 20.
His funeral service will be Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, in the Philadelphia Public Cemetery at Philadelphia, Mo.
He was born to Victor Ivan and Iona Hope Branch on April 4, 1902 in Warren County, Mo.
Herbert married Eva May Paugh on March 22, 1925, who survives.
Other survivors include his sons, George of Elkhorn, Neb. and John of Churchville, Md.; two half-brothers, Cliff Gander of Monroe City, Mo., and Bruce Gander of Philadelphia; two half-sisters, Jackie Deets and Edith Young both of Tuscon, Ariz.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Bob Halberg, father of area resident, died
Robert L. “Bob” Halberg, 66 and father of Debbie Lee Halberg of Andover died Wednesday, Aug. 24.
Services will be Saturday morning at 10 at the Wellington Place Baptist Church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the IOOF Cemetery, Blackwell, Okla.
Survivors, besides his daughter of Andover, include his wife, W. Elaine; two sons, Robbie of Wichita and Brian L. Conard of National City, Calif.; daughters Valerie J. Young, Kristy A. Gerstner, Maxanne McKenzie and Michelle Ballard all of Wichita; mother, Bertha Halberg of Wichita; three sisters, Betty J. Yeager of Wichita, Beverly A. Cable of Springfield, Mo. and Barbara J. Molz of Overland Park and 12 grandchildren.
Culbertson-Smith Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangements.

Winfield man died Wednesday
Bert Stewart Wright, 80, retired Southern Kansas LP Gas Co. co-owner and father of Samuel Charles of Douglass, died Wenesday, Aug. 24.
The service will be held at Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Ora; two daughters, Lois Starkey of Burden and Delores Metz of Winfield; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been suggested to the Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital.
Miles Funeral Home has the arrangements.
