Virginia Beard died Sunday
Virginia L. Beard, 71, of El Dorado died Sunday, Aug. 28, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born in Wichita on March 28, 1917.
On Aug. 28, 1938 she married Paul E. Beard in Blackwell, Okla.
Survivors include her husband, Paul and one sister, Ruth Harkins, San Francisco, Calif.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.
Andover child dies soon after birth
Jennifer Shonkwiler, infant daughter of Mark and Donna Gail Shonkwiler of Andover, died Thrusday, Aug. 25.
Services were this morning and burial was at the Andover Cemetery.
She was born on Aug. 24. Her sister Stephanie survives. Memorials have been established with the March of Dimes.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangements.

Mother of Douglass citizen died Aug. 28
Eimina Maye Head, 64, of Wichita and mother of Kolene Rivard of Douglass, died Sunday, Aug. 28.
Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m. at the Douglass Cemetery.
She was born June 9, 1924 in Alva, Okla.
Survivors, besides her daughter of Douglass, include a son, Lyle Batliff of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter, Arvilla Harding of Wichita; one sister, El Dora Underwood of Adair, Okla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangements.

Pennington funeral will be Saturday
Lowell C. Pennington, 76, of Augusta died Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Harold Kieler will be officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Lowell was born to John Franklin Pennington and Lillian Howe on Sept. 15, 1911.
He married the now deceased Mildred Hiler on Jan. 1, 1933.
His wife Inger Seglem Shriver, survives. They were married on Feb. 14, 1982.
He was a member of the Augusta First United Methodist Church and the Augusta Lions Club.
Other survivors include a step-son, Bill Shriver of Bartlesville, Okla.; two step-daughters, Jan Feather of Wichita and Jill Stauffer of Boone, N.C.; brothers, Ennis Pennington of Canyon City, Colo, and Phil Pennington of Santa Fe, N.M.; sisters, Joyce Hyde of Augusta and Ruth Rierson of Leon; eight step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
His brother, Fred, and sister, Ermol, preceded him in death.
Memorials have been suggested
to the Butler County Hospice, Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, El Dorado, Kan. 67204 and the First United Methodist Church of Augusta.

Weldon Reagor Jr. dies in New Mexico
Weldon W. Reagor Jr., 46, of Augusta died Tuesday, Aug. 30, in Albuquerque, N.M.
He was born to Weldon W. Reagor Sr. and Janet McFarland on April 5, 1942 in Fitzsimmons, Colo.
Reagor was a Vietnam veteran.
Survivors include his son, Jason of Arkansas City; one brother, Cameron of Muscat, Oman, and his mother, Janet Reagor of Augusta.
