Burial Thursday for Augustan’s brother-in-law
George Edwin Bird, 94, of Houston, Texas, and brother-in-law to Jennie Ralston of Augusta, died Monday, Sept. 5.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Burl Allison will be officiating.
Survivors, besides Ralston from here, include his wife, Rose; step-son, Benny DeSilva of Houston; two daughters, Sarah Berkely of Columbia, Mo., Donna Black of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.

Augustan’s brother died on Wednesday
Clyde J. Brown, 65, of Haysville and brother to Patsy Ninke of Augusta, died Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Services will be Friday, Sept.
9, at 10 a.m. at the Belle Plaine United Methodist Church.
Other survivors, besides his sister from here, include his wife, Ruth Maxine; son, Wayne of Mulvane; daughters, Betty Lorenz of Wichita, Donna Schultz of Derby; father, Clyde E. of Haysville; brothers, Charles of Wichita, John of Mound Valley; sisters, Elizabeth Stockinger of Canoga Park, Calif., Alberta Conrad of Colorado Springs, Colo., Carolyn Human of Con-roe, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Memorials have been suggested to the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Department.
Hatfield-Smith Funeral Home in Belle Plaine has the arrangements.

G.R. Rogers dies in Galveston
G.R. Rogers, 38, died Thursday, Sept. 8, in Galveston, Texas. He is the son of Opie and Faye Rogers and the brother of Linda Rogers, all of Augusta.
Services are pending in Trumann, Ark.
He was born March, 31, 1950 in Mississippi.
Other survivors, besides his parents and sister from here, include his wife, Mary (the former Mary Day of Augusta) and son, Clinton of Galveston; sisters, Opal and Virginia both of Panama City, Fla., Carolyn of Anna, Texas, and Judy of Trumann, Ark.
Augustan’s father funeral tomorrow
Clyde Everett Brown, 86, of Haysville and father of Patricia Ninke of Augusta, died Wednesday, Sept. 7.
His funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. in the Smith Mortuary at Haysville.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1901 to Elsworth and Minnie Brink in Wichita.
Survivors, besides his daughter from here, include his son, Charles P. of Wichita, John of Mound Valley; daughters, Alberta Conrad of Colorado Springs, Colo., Elizabeth Stockinger of Canoga Park, Calif., Carolyn Human of Conroe, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
His son Clyde J., also of Haysville, died the same day.
Memorials have been established with the Retna Pigmetosa Foundation, Boston.
Smith Mortuary in Haysville has the arrangements.
Former Augustan died Wednesday
Forest Broomfield, 84, formerly of Augusta, died Wednesday,
Sept. 7.
His funeral service will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in Oklahoma.
Survivors include his daughters, Lois Flewelling of Horton, Marjorie Broomfield of Jay, Okla., Helen Addington of Tulsa,
Okla; sister, Edrie Broomfield of Augusta; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Eugene M. MacKay died Sunday
Eugene M. MacKay, 72, of Douglass died Sunday, Sept. 11.
The funeral service will be at 2 in the afternoon on Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Douglass Cemetery.
He was born to Eugene D. and Kathern Nancy Allen on Jan. 31, 1916 in Douglass.
Survivors include one brother, James R. of Wellington; and one sister, Kathern Metzger of Andover.
No memorial has been established.

Dorothy M. Miller, 61, of Pasadena, Calif, and daughter of Marie Bane of Augusta, died Sunday, Sept. 11.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
She was born Sept. 28, 1926 to Earnest S. Gregg and Marie Johnson.
Other survivors, besides her mother from here, include sons, Danny of Wichita; David of El Toro, Calif.; brother, Jerry Gregg, stepbrother, Jack Marple, stepmother, Dollie Gregg, all of Wichita; half sister, Ann Archer of Alabama and five grandchildren.
