Former Augusta school teacher died Monday
Marilyn T. Adams, 65, of Wichita and former Augusta school teacher, died Monday,
Sept. 12.
Services will be Saturday,
Sept. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the University United Methodist Church in Wichita. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery.
She was born on March 1, 1923 in Burwell, Okla. to Charles Henderson and Lucy Young.
Survivors include her husband,
David E. Sr. of Wichita; son,
David E. Jr. of Rose Hill; three daughters, Betty L. Colburn,
Donna Adams Zimmerman and Debra A. Lewis all of Wichita; brothers, Charles “Pete” Henderson of Colorado Springs, Colo.,
John “Jake” Henderson of Vernon, Texas and Paul Henderson of Beatty, Nev.; sisters, Louise Woodard of Martha, Okla. and Louella Brooks of Tulsa, Olka. and seven grandchildren.
Memorials have been suggested to the University United Methodist Church of Wichita.
Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangements.
Gallagher died in Washington
Brenda Gallagher, 35, died in Seattle, Wash. on Sunday, Sept.
11.
Services are pending.
Survivor is her mother, Mrs.
Lynn Mynatt of El Dorado.

Burial Saturday for Carl Williams
Carl Clayton Williams, 52, of rural Augusta, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Ron Pracht, of the Olivet Baptist Church in Wichita, will be officiating.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1936 in Washington County, Okla. to Willis Martin and Jessie E. (Corder).
He married Mary Vogt on July, 16, 1955 in Nowata, Okla., she survives.
Other survivors include sons, Douglas LeWayne of the home, Willis Clay of Belle Plaine, Kelly Jess of Augusta; Daughter, Sheila Ann of the home, Brenda Kay Thompson of Augusta; sisters, Della Jones of Wichita, Irene Taylor of Crescent City, Calif., Bonnie Komush of Squaw Valley, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Swearingen burial set for Wednesday
Orville Ray Swearingen, 74, died at home on Saturday, Sept. 17.
Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 in the Dunsford Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Jon Grissom and Rev. Burl Allison with the burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born to Charles and Ruth (Wiles) on Jan. 28, 1914 in Topeka.
On Aug. 10, 1935 he married Maxine in Yates Center.
He is a member of the First Christian Church, the Masonic Lodge and is a retired operator at Mobil Refinery.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine; sons, James of Douglass, Harold of Augusta; daughter, Janet Kroes of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been suggested to the Americna Lung Association.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.

Grandmother of Augustan died
Myrtle Johnson, 84, of Stromsburg, Neb. and grandmother of Gini McClure of Augusta, died Friday Sept. 16.
Services were Monday in Nebraska.
She was born on Nov. 10, 1903 in Polk, Neb.
Besides her granddaughter from here, her son also survives,
Derald of Stromsburg.
Her husband, Oliver W. Johnson, preceeded her in death. Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Center, both in Polk, Neb. 68654.
Area residents have death in the family
Doris Lorraine Goodin, 60, of Derby and mother of Michael of Rose Hill and sister of Kenneth Alcorn from Andover, died Tuesday, Sept. 22.
Services will be Friday morning at 10 in the Derby First Christian Church.
Other survivors include her husband, Robert; brothers Leonard Alcorn of Wichita, Keith
Alcorn of Kansas City; sisters Hazel Jenkins of Independence, Mo., Dorothy McPhaul of Pensacola, Fla., Luella Millen of Mulvane; and two grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
Smith Mortuary in Derby has the arrangements.
