Ruby Ryan dies
Homemaker Ruby Ryan, 92, McCracken, mother of Norma Bisagno from Augusta, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, at a retirement home in Wakeeney.
Her funeral service was Friday, Nov. 25, at the United Methodist Church in McCracken and burial was in the cemetery there.
She was born Sept. 22, 1896 at McCracken as a daughter of Jesse and Norma Anderson Elmore.
She was married to the late Glenn Ryan.
Mrs. Ryan was a member of the United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star (Chapter 261), New Era Club, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
In addition to the daughter here, Mrs. Ryan leaves a son, Elmore Ryan of McCracken, another daughter, Joan Buster of Carollton, Texas, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the church have been suggested.
The Janousek Funeral Home of La Crosse was in charge of arrangements.

Grace S. Lickly
Grace S. Lickly, 94, Haysville, died Friday, Nov. 25, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Wichita. She grew up in the Douglass area and lived in Augusta at one time during her married life.
Her funeral service was Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Haysville First Christian Church. Burial was in the White Chapel cemetery at Wichita.
She was born July 12, 1897 in Stillwater, Okla., as a daughter of George Allen and Elizabeth Russell McCurry.
The family moved to the Douglass area when she was six years old. She attended the Wheatland Rural School southwest of Douglass and after completing the eighth grade she worked in the
homes of neighbors doing housework and child care.
She later worked as a seamstress at a Wichita men’s wear store, in the upholstery department of Beech Aircraft, and at the Kansas Masonic Home
On Jan. 14, 1920 she married Morris James Lickly.
Suvivors include a son, Morris J. Lickly Jr. of Wichita; a daughter Donna J. Brown of Haysville; a brother, Emmett McCurry of Wichita; two sisters, Virginia Chance of Gordon, and Goldie Milstead of Dallas, Texas: 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Haysville First Christian Church have been suggested. The Webb Mortuary of Clearwater was in charge of arrangements.

Holem died Sunday at Susan B. Allen
Ralph W. Holem, 75, of El Dorado died Sunday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
His services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery and Rev. Mike McGuire and Rev. Harold Posey will officiate.
He was born Jan. 13, 1913 to Ray and Grace (Oliver) Holem in Augusta.
On July 23, 1938 he was united in marriage with Rojean Erwin in Electra, Texas. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Holem lived in Butler County most of his life and was employed by Skelly Refinery for 38 years as
an electrical instrument specialist before his retirement in 1974.
Survivors include his wife, Rojean; daughter, Jane Barrick of Wichita; sister, Irene Peal of El Dorado; and one granddaughter, Noelle Kathleen Barrick of Wichita.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Patmos Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, camping clubs, and many other community organizations. He will be remembered for being the longest member of the Municipal Band. He participated in the band for almost 60 years and also performed with the Butler County Community College concert and pep bands.
Holem, preceded in death by his parents, was an Army Air Force Veteran of WWII.
Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church to purchase new hymnals.

Kimzey passed away Sunday at AMCI
Margarette “Peggy” Kimzey, 82, of rural Augusta died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Longton.
She was born March 1, 1906 to Elmer E. and Stella (Starks) Ford in Elk City.
On Nov. 5, 1924 she was united in marriage to Charles Kimzey in Bartlesville, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Marie Ford of Chanute; and eight nephews and four nieces.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.

Burial for Michael set for Tuesday
J. Russel Michael, 90, of Rose Hill deid Friday.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Cemetery in Cullison.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; son, Merlyn of Rose Hill; and three grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Brookside United Methodist Church in Wichita.
Culbertson-Smith Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangements.
