Burial Thursday for Henderson
Eugene K. Henderson, 63, of Augusta, Coleman Co. plant maintenance worker, died Sunday.
His services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cochran Mortuary.
He was born on June 13, 1925 in Jasper, Mo. to J.B. and Marie
Henderson.
On Dec. 1, 1951 he was united in marriage to Ruby Smith in Huntsville, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; son, Gene Ray of Provo, Utah; step-son, Lloyd Graves, step-daughter, Janice Eudy, both of Wichita; parents, J.B. and Marie of Jasper; sister, Ione Weston of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Henderson was a member of the Bestor G. Brown Lodge 433, the Wichita Consistery, and the Andover American Legion.
Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Cochran Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangements.

Cornett’s sister will be buried at Resthaven Gardens
G. Mildred (Wren) Hicks, 73-year-old homemaker, of Wichita and sister of Floy Cornett of Augusta, died Tuesday.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Her survivors include her husband, George; sons, Eddie Kippie, both of Wichita, Jimmy D. of Richmond, Va.; sister, Floy Cornett of Augusta, Zora Banning of Sedan; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Regional Medical Center Endowment Association.
Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangments.

Augustan’s sister died Wednesday
Opal K. Moody, 72, of Attica and sister of Thelma Smalley of Augusta, died Wednesday.
Her services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church.
Other survivors, besides her sister from here, include brothers, Myrl of Wichita, Frank of Norton, Charles of Euless, Texas, Paul of Carson, Calif.; and sister, Ruth Epling of Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

Douglass man’s mother dies
Margaret E. Cowan, 88, Goodman, Mo., died today. She is the mother of Douglass resident Bobby Gene Cowan.
She was born Nov. 7, 1900 in Madison County, Mo. She was married to William B. Cowan, who preceeded her in death in 1955.
Services are Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 27, at the Goodman Baptist Church, the Rev. Terry Fortner officiating. Burial will follow in the Howard Cemetary in Goodman. The Clark Funeral Home of Neosho, Mo. has the arrangements.
She is survived by two daughters Mary Jo Marble, Neosho, Mo. and Shirley Watts, Joplin, Mo.; two sons, Bobby Gene Cowan, Douglass and Carroll Cowan, address unknown; two brothers, James S. Hinkle, Marilyn Heights, Mo. and Lavernon Hinkle, Austin, Texas; and a sister, Norma Smith, St. Charles, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Norris’ father died Wednesday
Jack Douglas Coffee Jr., of Carson City, Calif, and father of Diana L. Norris of Augusta, died Wednesday.
His service will be Tuesday in Lindsey Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Gracie; daughter, Diana; sons, Ronnie Coffee of Aztec, N.M., Gary Coffee of Franklin, Tenn.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Augustan’s step-father died Thursday
Richard Lee Nichols, 67, of Wichita and step-father of Ronald L. and Dwayne Davis, both of Augusta, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His services will be Monday, 1 p.m., at the Dunsford Chapel. The Rev. John Herman of the East Evangelical Free Church in Andover will be officiating. Burial will be in the White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita.
He was born to James L. and Blanche Nichols in Topeka on Aug. 23, 1921.
His first wife, Glenda Tillotson, preceded him in death in 1982.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; step-sons, Ronald L. and Dwayne Davis, both of Augusta, Steven Davis of Oklahoma City; step-daughters, Karen Carley and Connie Brown, both of Wichita; step-brother, Darrow Peck of Delores, Colo.; step-sister, Bernice Smith of Iola; and nine grandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.
