Augustan’s mother died on Tuesday
Virgie Alberta Waite, 75, a homemaker of Pratt and mother of Donald Waite of Augusta, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, at home.
Her services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Pratt. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Snowbarger and Rev. Darryll Waite, grandson. Burial will be in the Ellenwood Cemetery in Sawyer.
She was born on June 20, 1913 in Sawyer to Simon H. and Josiephene (Eden) Young and married Edmund Waite on July 30, 1933.
Other survivors, besides her son from here, include another son, Charles of Dumas, Texas; two daughters, Ida Jones of Garden City, Vivian Rogers of Wichita; sister Ocie Young of Pratt; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and step-grandchildren, Roger, Michael, Andrea, Steven, and Doug, all of Augusta.
Virgie, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Pratt, was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, on July 25, 1984.
Memorials have been suggested to the First Church of the Nazarene.

Friday morning burial for Stareck
Leon F. Stareck, 87, of Benton died Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Graveside services will be held Friday morning at 11 at the Benton Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 19, 1901 at Petersburg, Mich., to Joseph and Mollie (Maixner) Stareck.
Stareck, a stockman and farmer, came to the Benton area at age 7. He married Waunita Osman on July 6, 1927.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; sons, Eldon of Pittsburg, Ray of Garden City; brother, lessee of Burmingham, Mich.; sister, Nellie Rarick of Kingston, N.C.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of the arrangements.
