Leon woman’s father died in Marion Jan. 4
Milford Eugene Piper, 64, of Marion, retired Pester Refinery worker and former Towanda resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 4.
His services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughter, Carolyn Johnson of Leon; stepsons, Randy Sawyer, Robert Sawyer, both of Marion, William Sawyer of Prairie Village; step-daughter, Sandra Miller of Strong City; step-sister, Delores Johnson of Oldham, S.D.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and eight step-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.

Henry Gore dies in Houston Texas
Henry K. Gore, 68, of Houston, Texas and father of Sandi Gore Evans of Augusta, passed away.
His services will be Monday morning at 11 in Houston at Forest Park Chapel.
He was born to Kirb and Clara (Hoffard) Gore in Electra, Texas.
After being raised in Olney, Texas he married Robbie Jean Flanagan on April 7, 1944.
Survivors include his wife, Robbie Jean; son, Ronnie Gore of Houston; daughter, Sandi Gore Evans of Augusta; mother, Clara; sister, Mozelle Owens; six grand-children; and two great-grandchildren.
He worked for Mobile Refinery in Augusta in the 1950s. He also worked for Litwin Engineering as a design engineer. Prior to his retirement in Houston he spent 17 years in Israel, Venezula and other foreign countries.

Hazel Turner died Sunday at age 86
Hazel Leila Etta Turner, 86, formerly of Augusta died at the El Dorado Nursing Center on Sunday, Jan. 8.
Her services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Dunsford Chapel. Officiating will be David Turner and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 10, 1902 in La Harpe to Clarence and Daisy Le Bon Towner.
On Feb. 26, 1919 she was united in marriage to Lloyd J. Turner in La Harpe.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; sons, Jesse, Jack, Bill, all of Augusta, John of Clay Center, David of Douglass, Joe of Emporia, Richard of Rosalia, Jim of Bennington; daughters, Norma Thompson, Barbara Hutson, both of El Dorado, Carol Goss, Lois Kilgore, both of Wichita, Frances Payne of Augusta, Mary Camp of Arkansas City; sister, Estler H. Towner of Ojai, Calif.; 59 grand-children; 103 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, son, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral held for Augustan’s sister
Lola M. (Wing) Bilbrey, 61, of Wichita and sister of Emma Elliott of Augusta, died Friday.
Her services were today at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Survivors, besides her sister from here, include husband, Wade E.; sons, Wade E. Jr. of Avery, Idaho, Terry Joe of Brighton, Mass., Danny Ray of Wcihita; father, Ralph Wing of Potwin; brothers, Max Wing of Louisville, Colo., Rex Wing of Weir; sisters, Wenona Stockebrand of Yates Center, Pauline Foulk of Ketchum, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hospice of Wichita.
Cochran Mortuary has the arrangements.

Services for Seeber are tomorrow
Anna C. (Geil) Seeber, 91, of El Dorado and mother of Harlan Seeber, owner of Seeber Manufacturing at the Augusta Industrial Park, died Saturday, Jan. 7.
Her services will be Tuesday at 2p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with burial in the the Great Bend Cemetery.
She was survived by sons, Harlan, Dean, both of El Dorado; daughter, Shirley Green of Hays; brother, Glenn Geil, sister, Ethel Beasley, both of Enid, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado has the arrangements.
