Nan R. Alley Dies At 90
Nan R. Alley, 90, 312 E. Sixth, died Monday, Aug. 2, at her home.
Her service will be 10 o’clock Thursday morning, Aug. 5, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Burl Allison Jr. officiating and interment in the Elmwood Mausoleum.
She was born here Oct. 15, 1891 as the daughter of James and Lisa Carr Johnson.
She and Dr. James M. Alley were united in marriage during an Aug. 12, 1918 ceremony at Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1973.
Mrs. Alley was a member of Augusta’s First United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Soroptimist Club.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. James Alley Jr. of Wichita and Dr. Richard S. Alley of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a son - Robert J. Alley.
Mother Dies
Inez Barnes, 92, Arkansas City, mother of Jeanne Carder of Douglass, died Sunday.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ryndt-Erdman-Oldroyt Funeral Home in Arkansas City, with burial following in the Maple City (Kan.) Cemetery.
Inez was born June 4, 1890 in Cameron, Kan. to James and Rachel Parr Weakley.
On Nov. 11, 1911, she married Joseph E. Goulden, who predeceased her in 1945.
She married Joseph M. Barnes on Feb. 27, 1950, who predeceased her in 1968.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints in Arkansas City.
Other survivors include two sons, Leonard Goulden of Arkansas City, Norman Goulden of Newkirk, Okla.; four more daughters, Lillian Thomas of Birmingham, Ala., Isabelle Nagel and Nellie Huffman, both of Arkansas City, and Ruth Trueblood of St. Louis, Mo.
Father Dies
Albert W. Pickett, 67, Wichita, father of Anna Pickett of Augusta, died Sunday.
Services and burial were this morning at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Albert was born June 17, 1915 to John and Elva Passmore Pickett in Bartlesville, Okla.
He served as a private first class in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Helen Bogner on July 23, 1958 in Fairbury, Neb. She survives.
He worked as a janitor for Superior Maintenance.
Other survivors include a son, Wesley, at home in Wichita; a brother, Leonard of Bartlesville, Okla.; and two sisters, Grace Elledge of Los Gatos, Calif, and Pauline Cattini of California.
Resthaven Mortuary had charge of the arrangements.

O.E. Bair Dies At 82
Ola E. Bair, 82, Burden, father of Augusta city manager Homer Bair and Vivian Shaver of Douglass, died Saturday at a Dexter nursing home.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Burden. Rev. Gary Fields will officiate and burial will be in the Burden Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First Baptist Church in Burden.
He was born March 31, 1900 in Kingfisher, Okla. to Marion E. and Jessie Mae Croy Bair.
He married Anna Wilkerson April 8, 1920 in Clayton, N.M. She died April 4, 1980.
He worked at a Shell refinery in Winfield and farmed in Dexter before moving to Burden.
Other survivors include sons, Orville Bair and Eugene Bair, both of Burden; daughters, Lenora Henderson of Wichita, Oleta Shields of Derby, Eula Mae Martin of Dexter, Bea Waymire of Wichita and Wanda Mackey of Burden; a brother, Bill Bair of Miami, Okla; sisters, Grace Easley, Mary Apobaco, both of Valleho, Calif., Irene Blair of Inman, Annie Mohr of Larned, Vina Bowman of Cedarvale, Elizabeth Yarbrough of Album, Calif., and Goldie Bruner of Esparto, Calif.; 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Miles Mortuary at Burden is in charge of arrangements.
