Sister Dies In Winfield
Bertha E. Hedrick, 90, rural Burden, sister of Arthur Hedrick of Augusta and Alma Bracht of Douglass, died Saturday at the Heritage House Nursing Center in Winfield.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Rev. Lyle Miller will officiate.
She was born Nov. 11, 1891 in Yates Center to Henry and Mary Sontag Diller.
She married Homer Cox in 1910. He preceded her in death.
She married Riley Hedrick who died in 1956.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winfield.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Walker of Winfield; other brothers, Clarence Diller of Atlanta and Elmer of Mulvane; other sisters, Lulu Rossenberry of California and Viva DeWart of Westville, Okla.; three grandchldren and two great grandchildren.
The Swisher-Taylor-Morris Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge of arrangements.
G.J. McLin Dies At 74
Glen J. McLin, 74, Wichita, died Saturday, Aug. 7, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. J.D. Masters will officiate and burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 22, 1907 in Wishert, Mo., to Walter and Bertha Utley McLin.
He married Myrtle Williamson Oct. 24, 1926 in Wichita. She preceded him in death in 1951.
He married Adell Jones March 1, 1952 in Wichita. She survives.
He was a retired welder for Plumbers and Steamfitter Local 171.
Survivors include a stepson, Daly Hodges Jr., of Wichita; two daughters, Glenda Pohlman of Wichita and Dorothy Kossmann of Bryson City, N.C.; a step daughter, Ruth Vytlacil of Lakewood, Co., and a grandson, Jason.

Pearl Spencer Died Today
Pearl Spencer, 79, 1129 Osage, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born May 11, 1903 in Blue, W. Va., to Francis and Sylvia Spencer.
He married Phebe Classen. She preceded him in death. He married Flo Booher. She preceded him in death.
He was a retired boilermaker and a member of the United Brethren Church.
Survivors include three sons, Francis D. Spencer of Augusta, Howard W. Spencer of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Rodney P. Spencer of Wichita; a daughter, Madeline Rosenboom of Wichita; two brothers, a sister; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Dies In Harper
Pauline Scammehorn, 69, Norwich, sister of Rosella Burden of Augusta, died Monday at a Harper hospital.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Norwich. Rev. Daryl Burchett will official and burial will be in the Viola, Kan., cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Foundation.
She was born Nov. 2, 1912 in Viola to Arthur and Emmareen Miller Dobbin.
She married Andrew Scammehorn June 9, 1935 in Viola. He survives.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Viola.
Other survivors include a daughter, Luana Cushenbery of
Dobbin of Jacksonville, Fla., another sister, Josephine Turner of Mulvane and five grandchildren.
Ebersole Mortuary in Conway Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Stepfather Dies At 73
Lawrence King, 73, El Dorado, stepfather of Jim Lambing of Douglass, died Sunday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Sharp will officiate and burial will be in the Blankinship Cemetery in Rosalia.
A memorial has been established with the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital coronary care unit in El Dorado.
He was born Jan. 28, 1909 in Ivanpah to Orval and Sophia Winn King.
He married Gladys Lambing Nov. 16, 1949. She preceded him in death June 7.
He was a retired custodian at Latham Grade School and a retired carpenter.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors also include another stepson, Larry Lambing of St. Joseph, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Maxine Hinnen of Towanda; brothers, Aaron King of Muscotah, John King of Latham, Orval of El Dorado; sisters, Ora Wright of Winfield, Treva Harvey of Buffalo, Leona Kluthe of Springfield, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
