Tuesday funeral for Glen E. Wilkie
Glen Earl Wilkie, 78, of Augusta died Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Walnut Valley Manor nursing home here.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Darrell Watters and burial will be in the Branson Cemetery of rural Wichita.
He was born to Alex and Agnes (Kyle) Wilkie in Derby on April 26, 1910.
His wife, Lilly Blance (Larimer) Wilkie, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Glenda Almond of Augusta; brother, Alex Wilkie of Fruita, Colo; sister, Agnes Lemonds of Lyons; one grandchild, Scott McKeen of Towanda; and two great-grandchildren, Amber and Ashley McKeen of Towanda.
Bernice I. King died on Saturday
Berniece Irene King, 54, of rural Augusta, died Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First Southern Baptist Church with Rev. George Goudie officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born March 28, 1934 in Wilberton to Glenn Oliver and Wilma Marie (Cummings) Shutt.
In April 1954 she was united in marriage to Richard King in Belle Plaine.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; son, Steve of a Augusta; daughters, Cynthia Beard of New Braunfels, Texas, Karen Howell of Augusta; brother, Melvin Shutt of Bartlesville, Okla.; sister, Lucille Nichols of Salina, Okla.; and one grandchild, Jeffrey of Augusta.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Morris Edward Shutt, and one sister, Carol.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.
Bruce B. Madden
Bruce B. Madden, 75, of Wichita and father of Joan M. Stephens of Augusta, died Saturday, Jan. 21.
His services were today at Resthaven Mortuary.
Other survivors, besides his daughter from here, include wife, Helen; son, Robert of Leawood; daughters, Sharon Madden Lein-back of Seoul, Korea, Carol Cumberland, Marie Hampton, both of Wichita; two brothers, Lee R. of Topeka, Lloyd W. of Midland, Texas; and 13 grandchildren.
Former Augustan died in Texas
Truman H. Gray, former Augustan and Mobil Refinery employee, died Saturday at the Harlingen, Texas, hospital.
Graveside services were today at Weslaco, Texas.
He was the brother of Leatha Gardner and Virgil Polk, both of Augusta, Carl Polk of El Dorado, Newk Gray and Joe Edison of Donna, Texas.

Lillie Mae Coleman, 62, of Wichita and mother of Redell Coleman of Augusta, died Monday, Jan. 23.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
Other survivors include sons, Jimmy, Jonathon, Claudell, Willie, all of Wichita, Anderson of Lake Providence, LA., Earnest of Los Angeles; daughters, Elizabeth Allen at home, Lillie Moten, Janie Hammond, both of Los Angeles, Willie Jean Benton of Wichita; mother, Hattie Davis of Wichita; brothers, Richard Davis of Wichita, James Davis of Los Angeles; sister, Ollie Mae Allen of Wichita; 50 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

Daisy A. Pike dies at AMCI
Daisy A. Pike, 89, of Rosalia, died Monday, Jan. 23, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Chapel in El Dorado. Burial will follow at Blankinship Cemetery in Rosalia.
She was born on March 28, 1899 in Topeka to John and Sara (Phelan) Morris.
In 1917 she was united in marriage to Carol E. Pike. He passed away in 1931. She remarried in 1933 to Oliver E. Pike and he preceded her in death in 1969.
Survivors include one daughter, Helen Lipscomb of Augusta; sister, Pearl Stanfield of Independence, Mo.; brother Louis Fay Morris of Climax Springs, Mo.; three grandchildren, Carol Fox-worth of Mulvane, Gerry Libscomb of Beaumont, Texas, Linda Williams of El Dorado; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Butler County Hospice.
Augustan’s brother died on Saturday
George L. Fowler, 73, of Odessa, Texas and brother of Julia Fowler of Augusta, died Saturday, Jan. 21.
His funeral was today at the First United Methodist Church in Odessa with Rev. Charles Crutchfield officiating.
He was born to Mr. & Mrs. W.W. Fowler on Jan. 25, 1915 in Randlett, Okla.
On Feb. 3, 1940 he married Mary Kessler Spradling in Topeka.
Other survivors, besides his sister from here, inlcude wife,
Mary; son, G. William of Odessa; daughters, Janie Howell of Odessa, Marcy Wenzier of Bloomington, Ind; brothers, Randall of Aztec, N.M., Shelby of Jamestown, Mo., Wallace of Tuscon, Ariz.; sisters, Marla Vierling of Powell Wyo., Flora Farris of Iola; and six grandchildren.
