Services held today for Nixon
Norman R. Nixon, 53, of rural El Dorado, died Thursday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center.
His services were today at Carlson Chapel in El Dorado. Officiating was the Rev. Rick Harms and burial was in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1935 in El Dorado to Forrest and Jewell (Gann) Nixon.
On Aug. 20, 1963 he married Sonya Pryor in El Dorado.
Survivors include his wife, Sonya; sons, Norman of El Dorado, Terry of Leon, David Nixon Hearn of Eureka; daughter, Shannon Sue Lipscomb of El Dorado; parents, Forrest and Jewell of Long Lane, Mo.; sisters, Judith Jantz, Joyce Wendel, Mary Pender, all of Springfield, Linda Nixon of Long Lane; grandmother, Callie Gann of El Dorado; and eight grandchildren.

Iva B. Jessup dies at age 100
Iva B. Jessup, 100, of Andover, formerly of Rose Hill and Wichita, died Friday.
Her services are pending. Survivors include daughters, Marie Bacon of Wichita, Ila P. Mead of Rose Hill; sister, Ola Mourning of Colorado Springs; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Andover man died Saturday
August E. Chebultz, 74, of Andover and Beech Aircraft Corp. flight line mechanic, died Saturday.
His services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Mortuary.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys; son, Merle of Wichita; daughters, Monda Kimble of Cypress, Calif., Sharon Ramsey of Andover; sisters, Margarete Roach of Overland Park, Elizabeth Ellinger of Wichita, Genevieve Anderson of Pittsburgh; and six grandchildren.

Augustan’s mother died in Grenola
Leah Virginia (Wells) Eastman, 87, of Grenola and mother of Jim Eastman of Augusta, died Sunday.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Grenola.
Eastman, a homemaker, is survived by sons, Billy of Haysville, Robert of Coffeyville, Phillip of Grenola, Ben of Sacramento, Calif., Jim of Augusta; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Vaughan of Wichita; brothers, Hugh Wells of Hale, Mo., Dee Wells of Kansas City, Minnis Wells of Los Angeles; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchidlren.
Memorials have been suggested to the Grenola United Methodist Church.

Services for Chance at Dunsford Chapel
Margaret Chance, 74, of Wichita, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Her services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Dunsford Funeral Home with Rev. Wilferd Thiessen officiating. Burial will be in the Andover Cemetery.
She was born to Charles R. and Anna Lydia (Sanders) Wilson on March 3, 1914 in Coats.
On Feb. 1, 1934 she was united in marriage to John Austin Chance in Pratt.
Survivors include her husband,
John; son, Neal of Haysville; daughter, Elaine Bell of Wichita; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Lloyd Howard Jr. died on Sunday
Lloyd E. Howard Jr., 33, of Wichita, died Sunday.
His funeral was today at the West Side Christian Church in Wichita with Dr. David McCord officiating. Graveside services were held at the Highland Cemetery in Winfield.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; son, Jesse Wayne of El Dorado; daughters, Sheena Kathleen of Wichita, Julie Diane of El Dorado; parents, Lloyd E. Sr. and Vera of Douglass; brothers, Richard of Lakewood, Calif., Ron of Douglass; sister, Deborah DeHoff of Douglass; and grandparents, Ralph and Coral Warmbrodt of Arkansas City.
Howard was born to Lloyd E. Sr. and Vera L. (Warmbrodt) Howard in Winfield on March 10,
1955.
Memorials are suggested to the Firemans Relief Association, 4343 N. Woodlawn.

Ray D. Hawkins services Friday
Ray D. Hawkins, 75, of Cedar Vale, father of Debra Parks and brother of Marie Wakefield, both of Augusta, died Tuesday.
The funeral for Hawkins, a retired Chautauqua County road department employee, will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Cedar Vale Church of Christ.
Other survivors, besides his relatives from here, include his wife, Noreen; sons, Howard of Auburn, Doyle of Cedar Vale; daughter, Phyllis Hollister of Arkansas City; half-brother, Max Thomason of Wichita; half-sister, Helen Dean of Winfield; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials are to the Maude Carpenter Children’s Home, Wichita.
Wheeler Funeral Home has charge of the arrangments.
