Former Augustan died in Marion
Hazel Ruth Douglas, 83, of Wichita and formerly of Augusta, died today at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion.
Services will be held 11 a m. Monday at Dunsford chapel and Rev. Don Scott and Dr. Roger Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born on March 23, 1906 to William Henry and Destina (Prentice) Dillaplain in Oklahoma City.
On Dec. 25, 1923 she was united in marriage to Fred Douglas Sr. in Oklahoma City.
She is survived by son, Howard Roy of Dekalb, Texas;
daughters, Patricia Emily Scott of Wichita, Virginia Ruth Cunningham of Wenatchee, Wash.; sister, Sarah Whetstone of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Douglass, preceded in death by her husband in 1983, a son Walter Jr., and a daughter Geraldine Norris, was a homemaker and a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
Memorials are to the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 525 W. Douglas, Wichita, Kan. 67203.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.

Former Augustan died April 3
Former Augustan Josephine Irene Gifford, 82, died April 3 in Lowry City, Mo.
Her services were held in Lowry City on Friday, April 7, at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel.
She was born on Aug. 30, 1906 near Iola to John and Hattie (Hurlock) Garrett.
She was united in marrige to Oral W. Gifford on Sept. 16, 1928 in Burlington.
Survivors include her son, Jerry and wife Shirley of Hiawatha; daughter, Ethel McGovern and husband Charles of Chehalis, Wash.; brother, Russell Garrett of Augusta; sister, Dorothy Anderson of Burlington; grandson, Bob Gilford of Hiawatha; three granddaugthers; and one great-grandson.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Oral in 1988; brother, Stanton Garrett; and two sisters, Mildred Hale and Velma Garrett.

Services Wednesday for 3-month-old boy
Donald Ray Ralph Jr., 3-month-old son of Donald and Teresa Ralph of Rose Hill, died
Sunday, April 9.
His funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Lake-view Funeral Home in Wichita.
Other survivors include his brother, Justin of the home; grandparents, Bill and Rita Harmon of Augusta, Jack and Vic-key Ralph of Derby; and great-grandparents, Lola Porter of Augusta, Nellie Harmon, Donald and Gladys Church, all of Wichita.

Dies in Oklahoma
Lloyd Hayes of Checotah, Okla, and grandfather of Michael Echols of Augusta, died Sunday, April 9.
Services will be in Checotah at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Ruby A. Seal buried today
Ruby Agnes Seal, 88, of El Dorado and former Douglass resident, died Friday, April 7, in El Dorado.
Services were held today at the Douglass United Methodist Church and burial was in the Douglass Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Homer of the home; and sister, Pearl Bland of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass was in charge of the arrangements.

Former Augustan died on Thursday
Joe L. Millison, 55, of Round Lake, Ill. and formerly of Augusta, died Thursday at Condell Memorial Hospital in Libertyville, Ill.
Graveside services were held today at the Canfield Cemetery in Idabel, Okla. Nation Funeral Home has the arrangements.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1934 to Albert E. and Nina I. (Billingsley) Millison in Idabel.
Survivors include his father, Albert of Idabel; daughter, Mikki Hall of Augusta; son, Jerry Millison of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Harold “Hap” of Round Lake, Ill.; grandmother, Maude Millison of Sedan; and one grandson, Travis Hall of Augusta.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kerry, and his mother, Nina.
