Clarence LaFevre dies at hospital
Clarence R. LaFevre, 71, El Dorado, died Monday, April 10, at the Susan B. Allen Hospital in El Dorado.
His funeral service will be 2 o’clock Wednesday, April 12, at the Kirby Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado with Rev. Rick Harms of Prospect Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery at El Dorado.
He was born July 25, 1916 in Bridgeport, Ill., as a son of Alva Bert and Grace LaFevre.
On May 5, 1956, he married the former Lila Edwards during a ceremony in Miami, Okla. She survives.
This retired Mobil Oil Co. refinery employee was an army veteran of World War II. Following his retirement, he served as
quartermaster for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1184 and was a past post commander as well as a past state commander for VFW. He also held membership in the American Legion.
In addition to his wife, LaFevre leaves a son, Richard LaFevre of Beaumont, Texas; two daughters, Linda Brockmiller of Ferndale, Wash., and Kathy Garden hire of El Dorado; two sisters Fern Roth and Stella Smith, both of Wichita; a brother, Francis LaFevre of San Francisco, Calif.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a brother.
Memorials to the Diabetes Foundation have been suggested.

Graveside services for H. Rutherford
Hylen Rutherford, 84, of rural El Dorado died Wednesday April 12.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
She was born to Jacob W. and Viola (Furner) Myers on May 16, 1904 in Bums.
On April 17, 1943 she was united in marriage to Franklin Ray Rutherford in Wichita. He preceded her in death on Sept. 22 1979.
Relatives and friends survive Rutherford who is a retired school teacher and a member of the First Christian Church in El Dorado.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado has the arrangements.

Graver’s aunt died on Friday
Mayble Winger, 98, of Arcadia, Calif. and aunt of Augustan George F. Graver, died Friday.
Burial will be in Paris, Calif.
She is survived by one son, Bernard Winger of Arcadia; one granddaughter; one niece; and five nephews.
Alice L. Bowman burial tomorrow
Alice L. Bowman, 65, of Wichita and sister of Russel Sibley of Augusta, died Saturday, April 15.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cochran Mortuary.
Other survivors, besides Sibley of Augusta, include her husband, Dale; sons, Earl A. Lemings of Newburg, Md., Michael R. of Wichita, John C. of Puyallup, Wash; daughter, Enid E. Hawken of Wichita; brothers, Leroy Sibley of Seattle, Wash. Joe Sibley, Edward Sibley, both of Bolivar, Mo.; sisters, Grace Schreiner, Helen McPherson, both of Wichita, Zela Parker of Parsons, Geil Smith of Spring-field, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.

Goering’s father died on Tuesday
Milton W. Goering, 77, of Moundridge and father of Fredric J. Goering of Andover, died Tuesday.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Mennonite Church of Christian.
Goering, a retired school principal, teacher, and farmer, is survived by his wife, Lorene B.; sons, Fredric J. of Andover, Dwight M. of Moundridge; daughter, Leanna R. Fast of Canada; brothers, Alvin of Neodesha, Raymond L. of Salina; sisters, Hilda Stucky, Edna Kaufman, Marie Wedel, all of Moundridge; and six grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the Inman Education Association Scholarship Fund and the Eden Mennonite Church Building Fund.
Harder-Kaufman Funeral Home has the arrangements.
