Ronald Carson died today
Welder Ronald Eugene Carson, 47, of Augusta, died at home today.
A cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Dunsford chapel.
Born on Nov. 8, 1941 in El Dorado to Gerald Edward and Frances Fay (Jones) Carson, he is survived by one son, Patrick Harlan of Augusta; brothers, Jerry Lee, Michael David, both of Augusta, Tommy Edward of El Dorado; sister, Linda Schmidt of Towanda; and his mother, Fay of Augusta.
Memorials are to the Wild Trust, Kansas Fish and Game, Pratt, Kan., 67124.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has the arrangements.

Cassie Benington died at age 80
Cassie Maurine Benington, 80, of Augusta died in her home on Friday, April 21.
Services were held today at the Dunsford chapel. Rev. Burl Allison officiated and burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born to Mac F. and Mary Ellen (Cromwell) Taylor on Dec. 26, 1908 in Augusta.
On April 8, 1934 she was united in marriage to Burton Benington in Augusta. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1954.
Survivors include one son, Mac B. Benington of Augusta; and two grandchildren, Christopher A. and Bryan E. McGinnia.
Benington, a homemaker, was a member of the First Christian Church in Augusta.

MONDAY, APRIL 24, 1989
Former teacher dies at age 82
Edith Wilvers Curran, 82, Norwalk, Conn., died Sunday, April 23, at her home. She once taught school in Augusta.
Her funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the St. Thomas Apostle Church in Norwalk and burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery there.
She was born Nov. 27, 1906 in Salina as a daughter of Henry and Delia Mark Wilvers.
The widow of Robert T. Curran graduated from the University of Kansas and worked 13 years as an elementary schoolteacher in Augusta and Salina. She has spent her last 42 years in Connecticut.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Anne) Longo of Wilton, Conn., and Mrs. Peter (Kathleen) Gakos of Norwalk; a sister, Anna Shoup of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Katherine Westfall died yesterday
Katherine Ann Westfall, 37, a homemaker of Wichita and an Augusta High School graduate, died in her home yesterday.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dunsford chapel with Rev. Amos Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born to Earl and Doris (Foster) Hixon on Dec. 1, 1951 in Neodesha.
On Dec. 22, 1984 she was united in marriage to Gordon Wayne Westfall in Winfield.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon; son, Daniel E. Dumke of Vermillion, Ohio; daughter, Melanie A. Dumke, of Vermillion; brother, Dennis W. Hixon of Wichita; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hixon of Wichita.

J. Dailey’s mother died in Garden City
Faye (Steele) Dailey, 86, a homemaker of Garden City and mother of Augustan John Dailey, died Monday, April 24.
Her services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Garden City.
Other survivors, besides John Dailey from here, include sons, Ronald of Garden City, Lowell of Tyler, Texas; brother, Earl Steele of Greeley, Colo.; sister, Velma Clugston of Mount Vernon, Ill; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church.
