Roy H. Coday dies in El Dorado
Roy Harvey Coday, 85, of rural Augusta, died Thursday, May 18, at Knutson Manor in El Dorado.
Service time is 2 p.m. Monday, May 22, at Dunsford Funeral Home chapel in Augusta. Burial will follow in Augusta’s Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Ralston Jennings of Independence, Mo., and Rev. Art Wilson of Haverhill Christian Church will officiate.
Coday was born Feb. 25, 1904, to Raymond and Gertrude (Johnson) Coday in Augusta. On Feb. 25, 1925, he was married to Mary E. Marshall in Wichita. She is among the survivors.
He was a retired Mobil employee, working in the sales department.
Coday was a member of Mystic Tie Lodge 74, Wichita Consistory
and a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was affiliated with the Haverhill Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two stepbrothers, Austin Jones of Rose Hill and Ivan Jones of Wichita; four stepsisters, Doris Blakely of Wichita, Erma Hintges of Dallas City, Ill., Thelma Dooley of Palm Springs, Calif. and Edna Davis of Douglass; three nieces, Charlotte Baker of Augusta, Connie Jo Bluebaugh of Sedalia and Judith Murphy of Corpus Christie, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernie.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Haverhill Christian Church.

Carpenter died at AMCI today
Retired Santa Fe Lake caretaker Reynolds Duane Carpenter Jr., 80, of Augusta died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
No services will be held.
He was born Feb. 22, 1909 in Topeka to Reynolds Duane and Annie (Ray) Carpenter.
Survivors include one son, Reynolds Tom Carpenter of Augusta; and one grandchild.
Police were summoned to Carpenter’s home in the 1100 block of Euclid around 6 o’clock by a neighbor’s call this morning to investigate a gunshot report.
According to assistant safety director C.R. Pressnell, Carpenter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Pressnell said a handgun was used.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Douglass man died Saturday
Jefferson Woodrow White, 70, of Douglass and retired grain elevator worker, died Saturday.
Graveside services will be at the Douglass Cemetery on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie May; sons, John of Douglass, Richard of Augusta; daughter, Linda Gannon of Douglass; brother, Tom of Oregon; and eight grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass has the arrengements.
Kongs died May 21
Jean Kongs, sister of Aline Bisagno, died Sunday in Seneca.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Guy S. Rosebraugh dies at age 70
Guy S. Rosebraugh, father of Augustan Leroy Rosebraugh, died Monday at age 70.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls and Rev. Dan Roland will officiate.
He was born to Roy and Bertha (Cortwright) Rosebraugh on Sept. 25, 1918 in Chase County.
On Dec. 21, 1940 he was united in marriage to Fern Gable in Emporia. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1986. He remarried Casilda Wambsganss Jones on Oct. 24, 1987 in Bazaar.
Rosebraugh, a retired assistant road master for Sante Fe and Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home employee for the past four years, is survived by his wife, Casilda; son, Leroy of Augusta; step-son, Robert Jones of Olathe; two step-daughters, Deana Starkey of Elmdale, Virginia Peterson of Bazaar; three brothers. Albert of Grants Pass,
Ore., Carl of Rosalia, Chester of Augusta; two sisters, Lois Slabaugh of Newton, Viola Isom of Bums; two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death in infancy.
Rosebraugh was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cottonwood Falls, Zereditha Masonic Lodge, and Order of the Eastern Star. He was an active volunteer at the Chase County Senior Center, served on the board of directors of Home Health Services for Chase County Inc., and was a volunteer driver for the Chase County ambulance service.
A memorial has been established with the Chase County Senior Center and may be sent to the funeral home, Box 220, Cottonwood Falls, Kan. 66845.
