Wheeler’s sister died on Saturday
Augustan John D. Wheeler’s sister Eulalia M. Middaugh. 80, died Saturday, July 8.
Services for the retired hotel restaurant hostess will be 10 a.m. Friday at Downing & Lahey Mortuary.
The Wichita women is survived by her daughter, Helen Spear of Renton, Wash.; brother, Kenneth J. Wheeler of Andover, John D. Wheeler of Augusta; sister, Nina Webster of Fort Dodge; and two grandchildren.
She was born to William Nelson and Nola Marie Wheeler on May 21, 1909 in Kingfisher, Okla.

Moon’s mother died at home
Marie B. Johnson, 95, of Enterprise, died in her home Monday evening. She was the mother of Shirley Moon of Augusta. Also surviving her is another daughter, Vivian MacRae of Los Gatos, Calif.
She was born in Dwight on Feb. 17, 1894 to Franz and Louisa Bach. In 1916 she married C.H. Johnson who preceded her in death in 1961.
She and her husband ran newspapers in Lewis and Enterprise and beginning in 1936 they both worked for the United States Post Office as postmaster and clerk for many years.
Active in church and Eastern Star, Johnson was the first worthy matron of the Enterprise Chapter.
Services will be held at the Enterprise Methodist Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with Martin Funeral Home of Abilene in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials have been established with the Enterprise Methodist Church and the Enterprise Public Library.

Augustan’s sister died on Monday
Alma V. Sommer, 80, of La Mesa, Calif. and sister of Augustan Horace Bates, died Monday.
Besides Bates she leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Former Augustan burial at Elmwood
Former Augustan Gerald Cron died Thursday, July 20.
Services for the Wichitan will be 10 a.m. Monday at Downing-Lahey Mortuary, 6555 E. Central in Wichita. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.

Robert Kime dies at hospital
Augustan Robert William Kime, 76, of 1233 Golf, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Services for the retired oil field welder will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born to William and Elizabeth Kime in Norman, Okla., on Oct. 20, 1912.
On Aug. 26, 1950 he married
Martha Jane Harris in Stockton.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; son, Arthur William of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter, Brenda Joyce Ritchards of Mustang, Okla.; brothers, George of Oklahoma City, Fred of Gabor, Okla.; sisters, Alice Smith of Oklahoma City, Lillian Hall of Midwest City, Okla., Helen Roberson of Del City, Okla., Ruth Enochs of Lindsey, Okla., Doris Husdon of Seminole, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Kime, a member of the First Baptist Church, served in the United States Army during World War II and is a member of the American Legion.

Bertha C. Dutton services tomorrow
Bertha Conzoria Dutton, 94, a homemaker from Douglass, died Thursday, July 20.
Services for the former Howard resident will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard.
Survivors include sons, Homer of Shell Knob, Mo., Floyd of Toronto, Hubert of Douglass; daughters, Dollie Brewer of Douglass, Erline Long of Winfield; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are to the First Baptist Church of Howard.
