Augusta woman’s grandmother died
Augustan Jo Wilcox’s grandmother, Anna Faye Rum mans, 91, of Atchison, died Thursday, July 27.
Her services were held Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church and burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born May 14, 1898 in Atchison to William and Grace Wiggins.
Survivors include her son, John of Lorton, Va.; daughter, Mary Lou Jcssip of Atchison; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Jean Stanton in 1973, husband Col. John A. Rummans on July 22, 1965, three brothers, and five sisters.
Rummans, a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, held memberships in Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Missouri Pacific Booster Club.
Memorials are to the Good Samaritan Club at the church.
Becker-Stanton Mortuary in Atchison was in charge of the arrangements.
George to be buried at Benton Cemetery
Naomi Alice George, 62, of Wichita, died Tuesday, Aug. 1 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services for the homemaker will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Benton Cemetery.
She was born to Ervin and Mae McCall on May 23, 1927 in El Dorado and on July 5, 1955 she married Glenn D. George.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn; son, Lamont F. Estrada of Nevada; daughter, Elaine Mae Stanley of Tulsa, Okla.; brother, Ervin R. McCall Jr. of Wichita; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.

Delaughter’s sister died Thursday
Dottie Shipps, 65, of Wichita, died Thursday, Aug. 3. She was the sister of Virginia Lee Delaughter of Augusta.
A memorial service is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita.
Shipps was born to William and Harriet (Morris) Snyder on April 23, 1924, in Bartlesville, Okla. She later married Wayne Snyder, who survives of the home.
She was a past president of the Miniature Society and affiliated with the Methodist church.
Other survivors include a daughter, Gayle McCurry of Wichita, and one grandchild.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc. DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Douglass resident died Saturday
Eletha M. Meairs, 94, of Douglass, died Saturday, Aug. 5.
Her service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Lawn Cemetery in Hutchinson.
She was born Aug. 28, 1894, to Lewis P. and Martha J. (Carmicheal) Locke in Stomboro, Pa. On her 22nd birthday, she married Vernon Lee Meairs. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Elanor Beshirs of Gordon; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Smith Mortuary in Haysville is in charge of arrangements.

Augustan’s sister died last week
Velva D. “Bobbie” Berryman, 65, of Federal Way, Wash., died Wednesday, Aug. 2. She was the sister of Louise Greever of Augusta and a former Wichitan.
Her service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita.
She was born April 12, 1924, to Frank and Berdie (McLane) Ordway in Davis City, Iowa.
In addition to her sister, Berryman, a former Boeing Military Airplanes office clerk, is survived by her husband, J.E.; mother, Berdie Ordway of Wichita; sisters, Shirley McCully and Frances Hatcher, both of Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

Betty Jean Fry died at AMCI
Betty Jean Fry of Augusta died Sunday, Aug. 13, at the Augusta Medical Complex at the age of 59.
Her services will be held in the Dunsford chapel at 10:30 Wednesday morning with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Fry is survived by her husband, Richard D.; son, Richard Behunin of Augusta; daughter, Gay Smiley of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Les Bales of Waynesville, Mo.; sisters, Nova Irene Underwood of Wanatache, Wash., Velma Mowery of Waterloo, Iowa, Lillian Courchene of Alexandria, Va., Shirley Haynes of Campbridge, Mass.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, George Behunin; brother, Howard Bales; sister, Marcella Pohl; and grandson, Kelly Shumway.
The arrangements are being made by Dunsford Funeral Home.
