B.A. Malek Dies At 78
Beatrice A. Malek, 78, Wichita, died Monday, Aug. 30, at the Osteopathic Hospital in Wichita.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 2,
Kansas to Orville B. and Lula Brooking Lewis.
She married John Ernest Malek July 7, 1958 in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Survivors include sons, Bill Dowell of Wichita, Homer Dowell of St. Louis, Mo., Ray Dowell of Washington and Melvin Thomas of Mobile, Ala.; daughters, phyllis Knight of Wichita and Frances Lilley of Joplin, Mo.; brothers, Albert R. Lewis of Mishawka, Ind., and Clarence Lewis of Wichita; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A sister, Gladys Bright, preceded her in death.
Gracie Morris Dies At 83
Grade May Morris, 83, Towanda, died Monday at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her service will be 10 o’clock Thursday morning at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado with Rev. William Bullard officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
She was born April 24, 1899 at Denmark, Ark., to Charlie and Emma Allen Spradlin.
On Nov. 24, 1917, she married James Roy Morris in Bennington, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Survivors include three sons, Jim of Torrance, Calif., Bill of Valley Center and Roy of the home in Towanda; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Wells of Aurora, Colo., and Mrs. Bonnie Patty of Towanda; a brother, Gene Spradlin of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sisters, Elvie Tucker and Leona Berry of Fort Worth, Texas, and Euince Hickman of Dallas, Texas; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

N.M. Dennett Dies At 69
Norma M. Dennett, 69, Rose Hill, mother of Daniel Dennett of Augusta, died Tuesday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Smith Mortuary in Derby. Mark McCluggage will officiate and burial will be in the Branson Cemetery in rural Wichita.
She was born Nov. 30, 1912 in Richards, Mo., to Walter E. and Ida M. Larson Hamlett.
She married Francis Dennett Sept. 9, 1947 in Wichita. He survives.
She was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of the Rose Hill Church of Christ.
Other survivors include brothers, Glenn Hamlett of Wichita, James Hamlett of Derby and Walter Hamlett of Bentonville, Ark.; sisters, Katherine Hill of Parsons, Dorothy Megli, Frances Boyle, both of Wichita, Mardell Snider of Lee's Summitt, and two grandchildren.
M.J. Poore Dies At 80
Marion Joseph Poore, 80, Route 3, died yesterday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Bennett will officiate and burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 31, 1902 in Winslow, Ark., to John Henry and Mary O. West Poore.
He married Dicie Marie Pense March 6, 1929 in Van Burean, Ark. She survives.
He was a carpenter and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
Other survivors include sons, Billy J. Poore, Pete Poore and Paul Poore, all of Augusta, Don Poore of Houston, Texas, Joe Poore of Ft. Smith, Ark., and James Poore of Houston, Texas; daughters, Helen Cradduck, Augusta and Iris Emerson of Lake Dallas, Texas; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
