Esther L. Main died on Saturday
Esther Lolita Main, 88 Andover, died Saturday, Sept 30, at the Andover Health Center
Her funeral service will be 1 o’clock Wednesday, Oct. 4, a the Spring Hill Cemetery in Spring Hill.
She was born Nov. 27, 1900 in Bucyrus, Texas, as a daughter of James M. Holcomb and Florence C. Nesselrobe Holcomb.
On June 6, 1942, she married Claude E. Main at Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by one sister, Ala Lininger of Augusta. A brother, James, and a sister, Florence, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Main was a former teacher at Augusta High School and a member of the Methodist Church.
Memorial gifts to the Augusta Public Library are suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Thursday service for Lawson Mullin
Lawson Franklin Mullin, 72, Wichita, died Sunday, Oct. 1, at his home.
A chapel funeral service is planned at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta for 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 30, 1917 in Derby as a son of Samuel Franklin Mullin and Ada Mae Hale Mullin.
On Sept. 16. 1938, he and the former Leitha May George were married in a ceremony at El Dorado.
Survivors include three sons, Edward of Maize, Bill and Gary, both of Wichita; a daughter, Rita Wright of Wichita, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Hospice of Sedgwick County have been suggested.
Michael O. Burke died on Sept. 24
Michael Owen Burke, 29, Newberg, Ore., died Sept. 24, following a long illness of heart disease.
He was a nephew of Curtis Roby and Mary Ann January of Augusta.
The funeral was held Sept. 27 in Newberg.
Other survivors include his parents, Bob and Joanne Burke of Newberg; a sister, Robin Conklin also of Newberg, and his grandfather, Owen Roby of Salem, Ark.

Leonard C. Seal died on Sunday
Retired teacher and elementary school principal Leonard C. Seal, 91, Douglass, died Sunday, Oct. 1.
His funeral service was held today at the Douglass Church of Christ and burial was in the Douglass Cemetery.
He was born April 22, 1898 in Rock as a son of James H. and Ticia Seal.
On Nov. 6, 1920, he and the former Vera Reed were united in marriage in a ceremony at Douglass.
Seal was a member of the Church of Christ as well as the Butler County Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a son, James Seal of Garden Grove, Calif.; a brother, J.C. Seal of Rock; a sister, Maude McCurry of Douglass; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild.
The Hilyard Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
