Philip Snodgrass funeral Thursday
Philip Harper Snodgrass, 73, Towanda, died Monday, Oct. 2, at Susan B. Allen Hospital in El
Dorado.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Central Baptist Church of rural Augusta. Rev. Myrle Homer and Dr. Walter R. Grist will officiate and burial will be in Indianola Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Dunsford Funeral Home here from 7 until 8 o’clock Wednesday evening.
He was born Dec. 8, 1915 in Towanda to Edwin F. Snodgrass and Susie M. Harper Snodgrass.
This former Farm Bureau president and secretary married Mary Grist on May 3, 1942 in El Dorado. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Glen E. Snodgrass of rural
Augusta; a daughter, Myra Snyder of Sang Springs, Okla.; a sister, Elizabeth A. Snodgrass of Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church and memorials to the church and/or the American Cancer Society have been suggested.

Reva L. Swigert dies at her home
Retired Koch Industries department manager Reva Lorene Swigert, 59, Wichita, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, at her home.
Her funeral service will be 10 o’clock Saturday morning, Oct. 7, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel here. A second service is slated for 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, in Tunas, Mo., and burial will be in the Hope Well Cemetery there.
She was born March 21, 1930 at Tunas, Mo., as a daughter of O.R. Fowler and Sannah Rife Fowler.
Melvin Swigert took her as his bride on Dec. 31, 1947. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Rudy of Augusta and Michael of Pleasant Hope, Mo.; a daughter, Valera Swigert of Kansas City, Kan.; three brothers, Carl Fowler of Pleasant Hope, Mo., Chester Fowler of Kansas City, Mo., Orla Ray Fowler Jr. of Tunas, Mo.; a sister, Zelpha Collins of Wichita, and five grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Margaret Hutchison dies in Missouri
Former Augusta resident and retired Boeing employee Margaret Hutchison, 82, Carthage, Mo., died today, Oct. 9, at a nursing home in Carthage.
A graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery here is scheduled for 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 11.
She was born Jan. 1, 1907 in Neosho, Mo.
She was the wife of Vernon Hutchison who preceded her in death in 1979.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Jackson of Carthage, Mo.; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Dougherty, earlier this year.
The Ulmer Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
