Clara Ruth Wells dies at hospital
Clara Ruth Wells, 85, mother of Doris Fulk, Leon, died Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Halstead Hospital.
Her funeral will be held in the Blue-Barnett Funeral Home chapel at Emporia with burial in a cemetery at Gridley. A minister from the Grace United Methodist Church at Emporia will officiate.
She was born Jan. 12, 1904 at Waverly to Monty and Lilly Saxton.
In October of 1926, she married Dell Cunningham who preceded her in death in 1956. In July of 1967, she was wed to Marlin Wells who died in 1979.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church at Emporia.
In addition to her daughter in this area, she leaves four other daughters, Myrtle Edwards of Branson, Mo., Velma Colston of Clayton, Okla., Wilma Spencer of Dade Villa, Mo., and LaVenia Clark of Independence, Mo.; a son, Walter Cunningham of Burlington, 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. One son also preceded her in death.
Memorials to the building funds of the Grace United Methodist Church at Emporia or the First United Methodist Church of Augusta have been suggested.
Memorial gifts to the Emporia church may be sent to the Blue-Bamett Funeral Home of Emporia, Kan. 66801.

Wednesday, November 1, 1989
Services for Brenner conducted Wednesday
Funeral services for Myrtle Brenner, 69, past Augusta native, were conducted Oct. 25 at the Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard.
Brenner was born April 13, 1920 in Augusta to Pearlie Towler Burris and Albert Burris, and she lived in Augusta until her marriage in June 1940 to Earl Brenner of Leon.
The couple had three children, Sally Schawb of Phoenix, Ariz., Dale Brenner of Howard and Earl Brenner Jr. who died in infancy.
Brenner had two sisters, Mabel Elder of Augusta and Audrey Bare of Palmdale, Calif.

Alcorn dies after critical illness
Edgar Alcorn, 85, Escondido, Calif., died Oct. 19. He had been critically ill.
He had travelled in Augusta several times when his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Alcorn, were living.
Sister and brother-in-law of Alcorn, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Finley, Augusta, had been visiting him when he died.

Turner White funeral on Saturday
Retired General Motors machinist Turner B. White, 82, El Dorado, died today, Nov. 2.
His funeral service will be 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Nov. 4, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born May 31, 1907 in Centralia, Mo., as a son of Jesse A. White and Minnie Lee McKinze White.
On Dec. 20, 1937, he married the former Edna Applegate in a ceremony at Nevada, Mo. She survives.
White also leaves a stepdaughter, Ila Jean Hamilton of El Dorado.

Robin Rockelman died on Oct. 31
Robin Ann Munro Rockelman, 45, died early Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Emporia.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, in the Emporia home of Mr. & Mrs. Keith Denniston, 427 Union Street, Emporia.
She leaves a son, Zachary Rockelman of Sacramento, Calif.; mother, Geraldine Munroe of Emporia; father, R.A. Munroe of Augusta; two brothers, Robert D. Munroe of
Wichita, and Allen Munroe of Seattle, Wash.; and a sister, Barbara S. Clark of Agoura Hills, Calif.
Memorials to the University of Kansas Medical Center, c/o Conci Denniston, 427 Union Street, Emporia, have been suggested.
