Opal Fivecoate died Thursday
Homemaker Opal Fivecoate, 89, Douglass, died Thursday, Dec. 28, at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral service will be 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the First Christian Church in Douglass with Dale Valentine officiating and burial in the Douglass Cemetery.
She was born May 12, 1900 in Concordia to Charles and Delila McNown.
On July 12, 1920, she and the late David O. Fivecoate were wed in El Dorado.
This 27-year resident of Douglass was a member of the First Christian Church.
She leaves a son, Wayne Fivecoate of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Wanda McCullah of Redding, Calif., and Imogene Phillips of Houston, Texas; a sister, Inez Collins of Wichita; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Cron burial at Elmwood tomorrow
A graveside service for Christina “Rubien” Cron, 73, El Dorado, who is survived by three Augusta residents, will be held at 11 o’clock tomorrow at Elmwood Cemetery here. Rev. Burl Allison will officiate.
Mrs. Cron died Christmas Day in Santa Clara, Calif.
She was born Aug. 22, 1916 in Missouri to Ralph LeRoy Hime and Laura Rief Hime.
She was a retired sales clerk of
the Montgomery Wards store in El Dorado.
Survivors include a son, Bob Cron of Santa Clara, Calif.; a daughter, Betty Jo Vosburg of Augusta; two brothers, Lee Hime and Vergil Hime, both of Augusta; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 3210 E. Douglas, Wichita, Kan., 67208, have been suggested.

Homer R. Young memorial set
A memorial service for Homer Robert Young, 68, of Wichita, brother of Helen Holman of Leon, who died Wednesday is slated for 10 o’clock tomorrow at the Full Gospel Chapel in Wichita.
Young worked as a self-employed construction consultant.
In addition to the sister in
Leon, he leaves a wife, Carol; two sons, Robert of Wichita and Stuart of Greenville, Texas; two daughters, Colleen Bilyew of Tulsa, Okla., and Sherry Green of Jupiter, Fla.; two other sisters, Geraldine Vaught of Wichita, and Rose Campbell of Seattle, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
