Knowles funeral tomorrow
Former real estate broker Wilbur Lewis Knowles, 65, Cape Coral, Fla., died Saturday, Dec. 30, in the Bay Pine Veterans Hospital in Bay Pine, Fla.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home in Winfield. Internment will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Winfield.
He had lived in Florida for the past 10 years.
Knowles was a member of the Church of Christ and was a past director of Maude Carpenter Children’s Home of Wichita.
Survivors include his wife,
Mary Alice, of the home; a son, Patrick Moky Knowles of Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Corliss Dell of Rockford, Ill., and Tracy Knowles of Cape Coral; two brothers, Lester Knowles of Napa, Calif., and Arthur Knowles of Ryan, Okla.; two sisters, Martha Guymon of Seminole, Okla., and Opal Kingsbury of Belle Plaine; and four grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Maude Carpenter Children’s Home in Wichita: 1501 N. Meridian, Wichita, Kan. 67203.

Evert E. Davis died Dec. 20
Services for Evert E. Davis, 84, Grove, Okla., were at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at the Sherman Funeral Home in Grove, Ken Siemens officiating.
Internment was in Buzzard Cemetery at Grove.
Davis died Dec. 20 at Grove General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1905 in Indian Territory.
Davis was a retired rural mail carrier.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Grove, a life member of the Elks Lodge in Miami, Okla., a charter member of the Moose Lodge in Grove, and a member of the Grand Lake Bowling Association.
On July 5, 1926, he married Vivian Hooper in El Dorado.
He left Augusta in 1966.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Evert Davis Jr. of Chanute; a daughter, Joretta Duncan of Grove; a brother Vern Davis of Kingman, Ariz.; a sister, Gladys Graham of Galena; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
