Sam Miller dies at hospital
Retired Mobil Oil billing clerk Sam Miller, 81, Augusta, died Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at the First Christian Church, the Rev. Michael Omundson officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Miller was born Jan. 3, 1908 in Kansas City, Mo., to J.W. Miller and Daisy Barber Miller.
On June 4, 1932, he married Audine Cummings in Augusta.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jack Miller of Houston, Texas; and five grandchildren.
Miller had been a member of the First Christian Church.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Former Mobil Oil worker dies at 87
Former Mobil Oil company employee, Vernon P. Kush, 87, Casper, Wyo., died Monday, Jan. 8, at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Casper.
Kush was a former Augusta resident.
His funeral service will be Thursday in Wyoming.

Lilyan Richter funeral Friday
Lilyan Richter, 83, El Dorado, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater. She was the mother of Pat Russell, wife of Gazette publisher Guy Russell.
Her funeral service will be 11 o’clock tomorrow morning at the Marion (Kan.) cemetery. Major Sally Michael of the Salvation Army will officiate.
Mrs. Richter was born Nov. 25, 1906 in Chicago, Ill.
She worked as a retail store clerk and had lived in El Dorado since 1980 after moving there from Florida. She had also lived in Texas.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Louis Muller and Kurt Richter; a son, Fred; one brother, and two sisters.
In addition to Mrs. Russell, Richter leaves a son, Richard Muller of Waldorf, Md.; another daughter, Kaye Sweeden of Greenville, Miss., and eight grandchildren.
Memorials to the Salvation Army have been suggested.
The Carlson Funeral Home of El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Edith Crist dies at LTC
Mary Edith Crist, 73, of Wichita, died Thursday evening, Jan. 11, 1990 at the Augusta Medical Complex Long Term Care facility.
Her funeral service will be 10 o’clock Monday morning, Jan. 15, 1990 at the Cochran Mortuary in Wichita with Rev. Melvin Crane officiating. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. that same day in the Elmwood Cemetery of Augusta.
She was born April 14, 1916 in Wellington to Lois and Adam Carlyle Crist.
Miss Crist is survived by her brother, J.W. Crist and sister, Ellen Firebaugh, both of Augus-
ta. Also surviving are nephews Scott, Larry, Greg, and Pat Firebaugh as well as Dean and Dick Crist.
She was a retired schoolteacher who had taught in Wichita schools. Her memberships included Friends University Alethians, Wichita Westside BPW, and Meridian Avenue Baptist Church.
The family prefers remembrances to the Friends University Alethians Scholarship Fund in care of the Friends Alumni Office, 2100 University Avenue, Wichita, Kan., 67213.
