Klea M. Wayne dies at AMCI
Homemaker Klea Margaret Wayne, 80, Augusta, died Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Dunsford Funeral chapel with Rev. Harold Kieler officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Wayne was born Nov. 16, 1909 in Marseilles, Ill., to Della Elizabeth Daggett and William Nicholas Danish.
In 1945, she married John M. Wayne in Bloomington, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1970.
Wayne had been past president of the Augusta Medical Complex Auxiliary and of the 20th Century Club in Augusta.
Survivors include daughter, Jean M. Wayne of Wichita; and a brother, Charles Danish of Delzell, Ill.
Wayne was preceded in death by a brother, William Danish, and two sisters, Helen A. Lock
and Marie Pitts.
A memorial has been established with the Augusta Medical Complex Auxiliary.

William McElroy
Retired Boeing Military Airplanes employee, William Earl McElroy Jr., 71, Augusta, died Wednesday, Feb. 7.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado.
McElroy was born Oct. 18, 1918 to Gretchen Stief and W.E. McElroy.
On March 18, 1944, he married Lela Mae Johnson in Huntington Park, Calif.
Survivors include sons, Robert, Earl and Tom McElroy, all of El Dorado; daughters, Kay Richwine, Barbara Boyer, both of Carlisle, Pa.; brothers, Leroy McElroy of Rogers, Ark., H.J. McElroy of Beaumont, Robert C. McElroy of Wichita; sisters, Gretchen McElroy of Wichita, Emma Carter of Newton, Betty Lou Stevenson of Mulvane, Helen Calvin of Latham; and 11 grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.

Agnes Martin dies at 89
Agnes Cartwright Martin, 89, Augusta, died Sunday, Feb. 11, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral service will be 2 o’clock Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Box will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born April 19, 1901 in Missouri as a daughter of William Cartwright and Agnes Gardner Cartwright.
On Oct. 6, 1931 in Columbus to George Robert Martin. He preceded her in death in 1960.
Survivors include two sons, George of Augusta, and Jack of Oilton, Okla.; five grandchildren, Michael Martin, Eric Martin, Mary Martin Selvage, Patrick Martin, and Jackie Martin, all of Augusta; three great-grandchilren, Leann Selvage, Megan Martin, and Madelyne Martin, all of Augusta.
She was also preceded in death by a grandchild.
Memorials to the First Baptist Church have been suggested.

Lanier dies Thursday in Douglass
Violet Rosand Lanier, 84, Douglass, died Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Medicalodge of Douglass.
Services were today at the Prairie View United Methodist Church in the Winfield area. Internment was in the Wilmot Cemetery.
Lanier was born Jan. 6, 1906 in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Albert and Mary Reagen Leach.
On Nov. 23, 1925, she married Emery Olen Lanier. They lived in the Atlanta, Rock and Winfield area. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She had attended Green Valley
Methodist Church and later attended Prairie View United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons Orvill Lanier of Edgerton, Mo., and Lester Lanier of Douglass; daughters Thelma Williamson of Douglass and Doris Folsom of Kansas City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Fund and the American Cancer Society.
Swisher, Taylor and Morris Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge was arrangements.
