Irene Baird Dies At 76
Irene N. Baird, 76, Douglass, died Saturday at Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
Her service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. John Martin will officiate and burial will be at the Douglass Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass United Methodist Church.
She was born June 12, 1906 in Peas, Mo., to Andrew and Cora Randolph McGowian.
She married Bybee Baird in 1948. He survives.
She moved to Douglass in 1969 from San Francisco, Calif.
She was a member of the P.E.O., American Legion Auxiliary, and the Douglass United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include brothers, Eugene McGowian of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lorane McGowian of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Pauline McClanahan of Idaho Falls, Idaho; four nieces and a nephew.
The Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Freda Caster Died Saturday
Freda Caster, 88, Douglass, died Saturday at Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery in Wichita. Rev. Gary Bowie will officiate.
She was born June 2, 1894 in Wichita to Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Will.
She married Clem Caster June 3, 1914 in Wichita. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Ronald Sheperd of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Dies In Wichita
Olive M. Harris, 90, Wichita, sister of Gladys Kistler of Leon, died Sunday at a Wichita nurs-
ing home.
Her service will be at 1.30 p.m. Wednesday at the Broad-way Mortuary in Wichita. Rev.
Jim Allison will officiate and burial will be in the Wichita Park Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 8, 1891 in Leon to DeWitt and Anna Seward Mark.
She married Charles Harris.
He died in 1940.
Other survivors include sons, C.J.D. Harris of Wichita, Kenneth Harris of Omaha, Neb.; daughters, Betty Raitt of Wichita, Loreen Calkins of Edgewood, N.M., 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mother Dies In Wichita
Nellie Gladys Ridgway, 86, Oxford, mother of Marie Wakefield of Augusta, died Thursday at Riverview Manor nursing home in Oxford.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dexter (Kan.) cemetery. Pastor Clarence Lanier officiated.
A memorial has been established with Riverview
Manor nursing home.
She was born Sept. 13, 1896 m Mullhall, Okla., to Christopher and Sadie Faulk Myers.
She was a member of the Burden Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Hawkins of Cedarvale and Max Thomason of Bentonville, Ark.; two other daughters. May Lawrence of Wichita, Helen Emberton of Oxford; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-

Mabel Souder Dies At 77
Mabel Elizabeth Souder, 77, Great Bend, formerly of Augusta, died at the Central Kansas Medical Center there Saturday.
Her services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 17, 1904 in Burlingame to George B. and Mary Ellen Jackson.
Survivors include a son, Stanton Sterling Cox of Wichita; two daughters, Sharon Maxwell and Karen Ross, both of Great Bend; two sisters, Esther Craven of Farmingdale, New Jersey and Ruth Goodson of Orange, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A.M. Harlan Dies At 47
Alene Marie Harlan, 47, 517 Grove, died Sunday at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. John White will officiate.
She was born Nov. 26, 1934 in Elaine, Ark., to James Lester and Elizabeth Richland Rash.
She married Richard Harlan May 6, 1951 in Berryville, Ark. He survives.
She was a sheet metal worker at Beech Aircraft Co., in Wichita.
Other survivors include sons, Sam Harlan of Wichita, Rick Harlan and Mike Harlan, both of Augusta; daughters, Patty Harlan and Pam Thornton, both of Augusta; a brother James Rash of Salina and Maxine Watts of Philadelphia; her mother, Elizabeth Champ of Junction City, and two grandchildren, Patrick Harlan and Erica Thornton.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
