Lorna Wilson died Saturday

Homemaker Lorna Wilson, 64, Leon, died Saturday, My 14.
Her funeral service will be 10 o’clock tomorrow morning, My 17, at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
She leaves a husband, Walter, daughters Beverly Tatum of Leon and Jackie Wingerter of Santee, Calif.; a brother, Floyd Brooks of Ogallah, Neb.; a sister, Lois Davidson, also of Ogallah; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Terry Lee Carter died on Thursday

American Legion golf course superintendent Terry Lee Carter, 42, died Thursday, July 12, in El Dorado.
His funeral service was this morning at the Fairview Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Towanda Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 19, 1948 in Wichita as a son of Edgar and Vivian (Johnson) Carter.
Carter moved to Towanda in 1962 from the Wagon Wheel Ranch area. His memberships included Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Lions Club, and he was chairman of the board for Fair-view Township.
Survivors include his parents, Edd and Mickey Carter of Augusta; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Dana) Peffly of Wichita; his grandmother, Laura Belle Carter of Towanda; a niece, and one nephew.
A memorial has been established with the Fairview Baptist Church building fund. Contributions may be sent to the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado which had charge of arrangements.

Verla C. Urban dies at AMCI

Verla Constance Urban, 70, Augusta, died Monday, July 16, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Robert Box officiating.
Urban was bom Feb. 9, 1920, in Augusta to Lillie Martha Harris and Albert Patterson.
On Jan. 31, 1942, she married Forrest Henry Urban of Wichita. He survives.
Other survivors include son Merle Walter Urban of Augusta; brothers Clare Patterson of Augusta and Faye Patterson of VanNuys, Calif.; sisters Lovey Boucher of Augusta and Lillie Jackson of Casper, Wyo.; one grandchild and two stepgrandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangemeents.

Maxine Dowell funeral held

A funeral service for Maxine J. Dowell, 65, mother of Augusta resident Beverly Jones, was held Wednesday, July 18, at Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita. Burial was in Douglass Cemetery.
Mrs. Dowell died Sunday, July 15, at the HCA Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
She had been a homemaker and was a retired secretary.
Other survivors include a husband, Robert of Wichita; daughter, Cheryl of Chicago, 111.; mother, Lillian Funk of Hillsboro, and grandchildren Angela and Brian Jones, both of Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the Grace Presbyterian Discretionary Fund.
Hillside Funral Home of Wichita was in charge of arrangements.

E.G. ‘Doc' O’Donnell dies Tuesdsay at home

Brother of Augusta resident Omer O’Donnell, E.G. “Doc” O’Donnell, 76, Wichita, died at home Tuesday.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Oatville.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
O’Donnell was born Aug. 17, 1913, at Milton to Frank W. and Florence (Cox) O’Donnell.
He moved to El Dorado in August of 1951 from Wichita where he had lived and farmed where the Wichita Municipal Airport is now located. He returned to Wichita one month ago.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; daughter, Stella V. Green, Overland Park; brothers, Vergil and Ira Lee, both of Wichita, and Keith, Ozawkie; sisters, Lila Zerbe of Wichita, Lela Veeland of Haysville, and Nadine Wait of Benton; one grandchild.
A memorial has been established with the Butler/Sedgwick Hospice Inc.
