Mike Tipton died today, rites Monday
Mike Tipton, 25, Augusta, died this morning at the St Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita
where he had been a patient for the past several weeks.
His funeral is scheduled for 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at First Baptist Church, State & Kelly,
with Rev. Robert Box officiating and burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mike was the son of Frank and Ruthann Tipton.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Carrie B. Gray services Saturday

Carrie B. Gray, 82, Augusta, died Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Burial will be in the Blankenship Cemetery.
Survivors include sons, Leroy, Edwin and Harley, all of Augusta,
Delbert of El Dorado; a daughter, Rose Elliott of Wichita;
three sisters, Jane Riggs of Augusta, Annabelle Abraham of Leon and Mazie Hobkirk of Wichita;
three brothers, John Ades and Ellis Ades of Leon, Clifford Ades of Augusta;
13 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

John F. Champlin dies Wednesday
Retired farmer and stockman John Franklin Champlin, 92, Cedar Vale,
died Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Grouse Valley Manor in Dexter. __________________
Champlin is the father of Augusta resident Aileen Bair.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale.
Burial will be in the Cedar Vale Cemetery.
He was born Oct 6, 1897, in Cadar Vale to Eugene and Louise (Edwards) Champlin.
On March 30, 1921, he married Fairy Edna Morlan in Sedan. She preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Merl, of Cedar Vale;
four other daughters, Betty Smith of Overland Park, Nadine Leedy of Cedar Vale,
Norma McGlasson of Winfield, Donna Green of Independence; two sisters,
Ruby Johnson of Arkansas City, Goldie Huffman of Shideler, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Grouse Valley Manor, Dexter.
Wheeler Funeral Home, Cedar Vale, is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey S. Tolbert services Friday
Jeffrey S. Tolbert, 29, El Dorado, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, at St. Joseph Medical Center.
He is the grandson of Clifford and Leona Morris of Augusta.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Carlson Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Leon Cemetery.
Tolbert was born May 12, 1961 in Wichita to Michael S. and Shirley (Morris) Tolbert.
Other survivors include his wife, Deanna, of the home; father and stepmother, Mike and Barbara Tolbert of Wichita;
mother, Shirley Tolbert of El Dorado; stepson, Justin Austin of the home; stepdaughter, Ashley Austin of the home;
sister, Tina Brown, El Dorado; grandparents Tom and Justine Cline of Atlanta;
and a niece, Abby Brown, ElDorado.
He was preceded in death by brother, Barry, and sister, Lisa.
A memorial has been established with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Carlson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Irene Hutcheson services Monday
Former co-owner of the Augusta Daily Gazette, E. Irene (Wedding) Hutcheson, 73, Wichita, died today in Wichita.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
She had been co-owner of the Gazette with her husband Harold G. Hutcheson.
She was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Ava, Mo.
Survivors include daughter, Susanna K. Hutcheson of Wichita; sister, Alyce Riggs of Augusta;
granddaughter, Shirley A. Hutcheson of Antioch, Calif.
She was a member of the Central Church of Christ
and a former member of the Kansas Authors Club.
Memorials have been established with the Central Church of Christ, Wichita,
and the United Methodist Urban Ministry Clinic in Wichita.
DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements.
