Rosella A. Unruh services Sunday
Rosella A. (Becker) Unruh, 60, Galva, died Thursday, Nov. 15. She is the sister of Alice Wedl of Augusta.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Gospel Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Moundridge.
Survivors include husband, Raymond; stepsons, Harold of Denver, Colo., Don of Okolona, Miss.;
brothers, LaVerne Becker of Leon, LeeRoy of Galva; sisters, Viola Schmidt of Hydro, Okla.,
Pearl Foth of Torrance, Calif., Ruby Unruh of Hesston, Faye Nightingale of Galva; eight stepgrandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

Fred B. Cassity dies in hospital
Fred B. Cassity, 88, former resident of Girard and Cherokee, died Friday, Nov. 9,
at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha,, Neb. He retired from Mobil Oil Company in Augusta.
Cassity had been ill the past year.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Brenner Chapel, Pittsburg.
Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg.
He was employed by the Mobil Oil Company as a station engineer and pipeline engineer
in Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas.
On Oct. 25, 1947, he married Mildred Bell Turner. She preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 1987.
Survivors include three sons, William Cassity of Frederick-town, Mo., Robert Cassity of Danville, Ill.,
Donald Cassity of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, William Cassity of Pittsburg;
two sisters, Grace Palmer and Christine DeArmond, both of Girard; 12 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Brenner Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Novie ‘Jake’ Hoover dies in Eureka
Novie “Jake” Hoover, 75, Leon, died Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Internment will be in the Leon Cemetery.
Hoover was, born Feb. 15, 1915, in Hamilton to William and Maude Vest Hoover.
Hoover had been a farmer and worked in the oil fields for several years. He moved to Leon 46 years ago.
He was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church and served in the Army during World War II.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Jean Margaret McKraig.
Survivors include two brothers, Aubrey of Eureka, Fred of New Hall, Calif.;
five sisters, Helen Crawford of Des Moines, Wash., Alice Hawkins of Leon, Norma Lee Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.,
Mary Saville of Tulsa, Okla., Doris Costa of Belle Flower, Calif.
A memorial has been established with the Leon United Methodist Church.

Leslie Alford Wedel dies Monday at home
Leslie Alford Wedel, 80, rural Augusta, died Monday, Nov. 19, at home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Dunsford Funeral Home, the Rev. Howard Friesen officiating.
Burial will be in Walnut Valley Cemetery, El Dorado.
Visiting hours will be 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Dunsford Funeral Home.
