J.B. Srader

Retired Srader Used Furniture Store owner J.B. Srader, 86, El Dorado, died Saturday, Dec. 22.
He is the stepfather of Elmer Jr. of Augusta.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity United Methodist Church, El Dorado.
Other survivors include stepson Glen of Redding, Calif.; stepdaughters, Anita Ehrlich of El Dorado,
Lucille Parker of Woodland, Calif., Norma Rector of Bloomington, Calif.; brother, Bernard of Blue Hill, Neb.;
grandson whom he raised, Dan Ehrlich of El Dorado; 15 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado, is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Gillespey

Retired teacher Dorothy Marguerite Gillespey, 92, Augusta, died today at home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta, the Rev. Burl Allison officiating.
Burial will be in the Coffeyville cemetery.
Gillespey was born Feb. 21, 1898, in Duncan, Okla., to Margaret C. (Reynolds) and Horace Wolverton.
On June 19,1920, she married Walter A. Gillespey in Bartlesville, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1978.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Daughters of the American Revolution,
the Round Table Club and the Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Gwen Silva of Encino, Calif., Marilyn Jane Goldberg of Scottsdale, Ariz.;
brother, Royal Wolverton of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; sisters, Oleta Kuchlin of Mesa, Ariz., Nell Kaleta of Muskogee, Okla.;
seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Memorials have been estabished with Hospice Inc. or Shrine Children’s Hospital.

Karen M. Bates

Karen Marlene Bates, 47, daughter of Audine Bates and granddaughter of Eliza Clark both of Augusta,
died Saturday, Dec. 22, in a one-car accident in the Dallas, Texas, area.
Funeral arrangements will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta,
the Rev. Michael Omundson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery here.
She was born Nov. 12, 1943 in Wichita as a daughter of Harvey Bates and Audine Clark Bates.
She worked as a commercial graphics design artist and was a member of the Christian Church.
Bates was a 1961 graduate of Augusta High School and graduated from the University of Kansas.
In addition to her mother and grandmother, she leaves a brother, Kent Bates of Peoria, Ill.,
and a sister Janice Patterson of Richmond Heights, Ohio. Ms. Bates also leaves two nieces,
Elizabeth Patterson of Bethesda, Md„ and Sarah Bates of Peoria,Ill.,
and a nephew, Aaron Bates, also of Peoria.

Anna L. Daniels

Anna Lee Daniels, 68, Douglass, died Sunday, Dec. 23, at the St. Joseph Medical Regional Medical Center, Wichita.
A graveside service has been scheduled for 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at Douglass.
Rev. Dan Ferguson will officiate.
She was born April 19, 1922 at St. Joseph, Mo., as a daughter of John Michael Daniels and Sophia Petrazilek Daniels.
Daniels had served in the United States Navy.
This retired Wichita postal cleric leaves longtime friend and companion,
Verla Bailey of Douglass; a brother, Dennis Daniels of Parsons,
two nephews, Michael Malone and Thomas Malone of Slidell, La.,
two nieces, Linda Johnson of Slidell, La., and Patricia Carlton of Pearl River, La.
Dunsford Funeral- Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass Senior Center, Douglass.
