John McGrew
Master electrician John McGrew, 79, died Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral arrangements were pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta this morning.

John Francis McGrew

Retired master electrician John Francis McGrew, 79, Augusta, died Thursday, Jan. 24, at the
Augusta Medical Complex Inc.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Elmwood Cemetery, the Rev. Letha Wood officiating.
McGrew was born Oct. 2, 1911, in Logansport, Ind., to Mary and Loyd McGrew.
In June, 1947, he married Sylvia Whittington in El Dorado. She preceded him in death in 1981.
Survivors include sons, Steve in North Dakota, Guy of Wichita, John of Logansport;
daughters, Ramona Waymire and Dana Hubbart of Augusta, Lisa Waymire of Mulvane,
Phyllis of Indiana and Rita of Kentucky; 28 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Earl C. Anderson

Earl C. Anderson, 61, Aurora, Colo., died Sunday, Jan. 20, in Aurora.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Elmwood Cemetery.
Anderson was born Dec. 16, 1929, at Augusta to Stella Edith (Clark) and F.S. Anderson.
On March 4, 1951, in Greenwich, Kan.; he married Ruth Klassen who preceded him in death in 1979.
Survivors include daughters, Cheri D. Schively of Aurora,
Cindy L. Akerley, Vicki L. Anderson, addresses unknown; brother, Lester of Harlington, Texas;
sister, Helen P. Anderson of Salmouth, Maine; three grandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Burris

Gladys Burris, 85, Andover, died Wednesday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.
She is the mother of Augusta resident Wink Provine.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Campbell Funeral Home, Eureka Burial will at Hamilton.
Burris lived in Augusta from 1976 to 1989.
Other survivors include a son, Harold D. Burris of Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Mrs. Arone
Holzmiester and Mrs. Lee Kendall, both of Wichita; two local grandchildren of six total grandchildren,
Eric Grooms and Nancy Rawlings, both of Augusta; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Burris; a son, Frank Burris Jr.,
and a daughter, Mrs. John Grooms.
A memorial has been established with the New Life Christian Church in Wichita.

James Stewart

James A. Stewart, 87, Rose Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 24, at Riverside Hospital in Wichita.
A graveside service is slated for 1 o’clock Monday, Jan. 28, at the Douglass Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 15, 1903 in Douglass as a son of John Porter Stewart and Mattie Bare Stewart.
This former oilfield boilermaker was a lifetime resident of Butler County.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Albert Pike Blue Lodge, and Wichita Consistory.
He leaves a son, James A. Stewart.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
