Ex-Leon Resident Dies In Ulysses
Mildred French, 83, Satanta, formerly Leon, died Thursday at a Ulysses nursing home.
Her service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Leon United Methodist Church. Rev. Jack Williams will officiate and burial will be in the Butts Cemetery in Beaumont.
A memorial has been established with the Prairie View Community Methodist Church.
She was born Feb. 17, 1899 in Atlanta to William Benjamin and Eliza Bell Wolfe Lanier.
She married George Earl Parsons July 4, 1919 in Wichita. He died.
She married Theodore French in 1967 and he died in 1970.
Survivors include two daughters, Irene Tredway of Longton and Helen Edwards of Satanta; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Ex-Augustan
Herman W. Rice, 74, El Dorado, formerly of Augusta, died Monday at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
His service will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Wayne Sharp will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Rice was born Aug. 24, 1908 in Augusta.
He married Hazel Simpson May 15, 1982 in Wichita. She survives.
He worked at Mobil Refinery and was caretaker of the Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado when he retired.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Moose Lodge. Rice served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Methodist.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Dies
Lorene F. Miller, 82, Hamilton, sister of Ruth Brunson of Augusta, died Monday at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
Her services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hamilton (Kan.) Baptist Church. Rev. Doyle W. Ross will officiate and burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery at Hamilton.
She was born Jan. 6, 1900 in Fordland, Mo., to John and Mary Reed Hughes Monroe.
She married Wallace O. Miller at Madison May 23, 1931. He survives.
She was a member of the EHU, the Hoe and Hope Garden Club and the Town and Country Club.
Other survivors include sons, Weldon Miller of Coxsackie, N.Y. and Larry Miller of Derby; stepson, Charles Miller of Beaverton, Ore.; daughter, Shirley Gott of Derby; stepdaughter, Lillian Walters of Ulysses; Edith Heimldale of Tulsa, Okla., Martha Springate of Arkansas City and Ethel Noble of Iola, and seven grandchildren.
The Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka is in charge of arrangements.

Brother Dies In Wichita
Courtney L. Clark, 68, Wichita, brother of Maxine Voigt of Douglass, died Oct. 4 at his home.
His service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the DeVorss Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Jesse H. Vardaman will officiate and burial will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
He was born May 20, 1914 in Conway Springs to Robert W. and Elizabeth Payne Clark.
He was a retired laborer.
A brother, Robert Clark of Wichita, also survives.

A.M. Redburn Dies At 89
Arlie M. Redbum, 89, El Dorado, died this morning at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist. Rev. Harold Kieler will officiate and burial will be in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Odd Fellow Eye Bank or the First Methodist Church in El Dorado.
He was born Feb. 4, 1893 in Bluford, Ill, to Willis and Stella Mae Creamer Redburn.
He married Mertie Wilcox Nov. 29, 1916 in El Dorado. She preceded him in death Nov. 5, 1981.
He worked for George M. Myers Co. Inc., before retiring 12 years ago.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado, Odd Fellows Lodge 174, the El Dorado Encampment 156, Friendship Rebekah Lodge 10 and Canton Justice 32.
Survivors include four sons, Alfred Redburn, Melvin Redburn, Howard Redburn, all of Wichita, and Walter of Dodge City; a daughter, Helen Maye Neff of Cambridge; brothers, Elmer Redburn of Laramie, Wyo., and Col. Ralph Redburn of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.
