Patricia Rich

Bookkeeper and homemaker Patrica Sharlene Rich, 46, Ashland, died Monday, April 29.
She is the daughter of Augusta resident Marjorie Rogers.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the First Baptist Church, Protection.
Survivors include her husband, Danny; son, Shawn Eric of Dodge City;
daughter, Shannon D. of Manhattan; brother, Charles Rogers of Wichita;
sisters, Peggy of Ashland, Barbara Dewey of Cimmarron, Sally Elmore of Ashland.
A memorial has been established with Protection First Baptist Church children’s fund.
Myatt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Manes, Gladys Manes

Homemaker Gladys Elizabeth Manes, 85, Andover, and
retired farmer Robert Chalmer Manes, 89, Andover, died Friday, April 26,
of injuries suffered from a tornado in Andover.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Andover Cemetery.
Mrs. Maness was born Feb. 15, 1906, to Lettie Walker and George Whigham.
Mr. Maness was born Feb. 8, 1902, in Blanchard, Iowa, to Lena Forte and James Milo Manes.
His and her survivors include daughters, Mary Lou Spencer of Andover,
Maxown Bates of Clarinda, Iowa, Monna Manes of Wichita;
eight grandchildren.
His survivors include brothers, Herschel of Blanchard.
Her survivors include a brother, Maurice Manes of Wichita; brother, Maurice Whigham of Clarinda;
sisters, Maxine Cochran of Denver, Colo., Mabel Kenagy of Afton, Iowa.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Jacobs

Retired Boeing Wichita supervisor Robert Charles Jacobs, 69, Augusta, died Friday, April 26.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta,
the Rev. Burl Allison officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.
Jacobs was born July 8, 1921, in Augusta to Marguerite Z. (Smith) and Charles Jacobs.
On Dec. 10, 1941, he married Reba Lois Larcom in El Dorado.
He served with the U.S. Army Aircorp during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Reba; daughters, Judy Louise Jackson of Augusta,
Patricia Ann Bruce of Phoenix, Bobbie Charlene Westwick of Frankfurt, Germany;
sisters, Lois Lee Lipscomb of Medicine Lodge and Eleanor Jean Mechling of Arkansas City;
six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.

D.E. Gustafson
Damon Eugene Gustafson, 18, a former resident of Douglass and Wichita, died April 19 in Leander, Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Jacqueline Gustafson of Wichita; a sister, Kelly Gustafson, also of Wichita;
grandmother, DeWeyne Gustafson Morris of Hays Springs, Neb,;
aunts Wanda E. Smith of Douglass, and LaVeda Graham of Bloomfield, N.M.

Edwin Tarman

Retired oil field worker Edwin R. Tarman, 77, Halstead, died Friday, May 3.
He is the brother of Augusta residents Eldon and Robert Tarman.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma; sons, Joe of Edmond, Okla., Robert of Wichita,
Michael of Wichita Falls, Texas; sisters, Isabella Blandin of Aztec, N.M.,
Catherine Davis of Winfield, Wanda Shipman of Oklahoma City;
12 grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Mabel Easley

Retired H & S Laundry employee Mabel L. Easley, 89, Lyons, died Saturday, May 4.
She is the sister of Ed Gibson of Augusta.
Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons.
Survivors include a son, Delbert of Howard; daughters, Vera Kruckenberg of Great Bend,
Phyllis Gantz of Pratt; brother, Virgil Gibson of Redding, Calif.;
sisters, Myrtle Brooks of Grimes, Iowa, Marie Dick of Leonard, Texas,
Nora Harper of Hollister, Mo., Anne Scoutt of Everett, Wash.;
19 grandchildren; 40 greatgrandchildren; eight great-greatgrandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Bell & Star Fund.
