Florence Brattain
Florence Mae Brattain, 93, Augusta, died Saturday, May 18, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater, Okla.
Rev. Charles Evans will officiate.
She was born Jan. 21, 1898, in Marshalltown, Iowa.
In 1917, she married William Brattain at Fort Hood, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1925.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Jeanne Flora, and a brother, Roy Leach.
She was a member of the Augusta Church of Christ and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Brattain came to Stillwater, Okla., with her parents in 1902.
She lived on a farm seven miles east of town and graduated from Stillwater High School.
After her husband’s discharge from the military, they lived in Stillwater and then moved to
Augusta in 1979 to live with her son.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Brattain of Augusta, Gordon Brattain of Palm Desert, Calif.;
nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Eugene Bush
Retired farmer Eugene Scott Bush, 66, Wichita Falls, Texas, died Thursday, May 16.
He is a former Douglass resident. Funeral services were Monday.
Survivors include his wife, Alta; daughters, Leanne of Fayettville, Ark., Brenda of Amarillo, Texas;
stepmother, Blanche Bush of Amarillo; sisters, Bette Hoenig of Denver, Colo., Roberta Galbraith of Wichita;
Stepsister, Norma Brod of Amarillo.
Hampton Vaughan Funeral Directors, Wichita Falls, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.
Vivian Burgess
Homemaker Vivian Beatrice Burgess, 85, St. Louis, Mo., died Saturday, May 18, at St. Louis.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at Elmwood Cemetery here. Rev.Burl Allison Jr. will officiate.
She was born July 9, 1905, in Augusta to Pearl Purcell and Matthew T. Moyle.
In 1925, she married Ralph Burgess Sr. in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1981.
Also preceding her in death was a son, Ralph Burgess Jr. in 1990.
Survivors include a daugther, Queenie L. Mracek of Creve Coeur, Mo.; a brother, Henry Moyle of Newton;
one grandchild, Ann Michelle Mracek; one great-grandchild, Anna Marie Mracek.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Office clerk Ella Marie Emery, 83, Augusta, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ponca City, Okla.
Emery was born Aug. 26, 1909, in Bliss, Okla., to Effie (Larimer) & Floyd Smith.
On Aug. 4, 1930, she married James Frank Emery in El Dorado.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.

Ethel M. Ogg, 67, Tucson, Ariz., a former resident of Douglass, died Monday, May 20.
Her funeral service was held today at the Valley Presbyterian Church in Green Valley, Ariz.
Rev. Joe Hawkins and Rev. Joe Carroll officiated.
She is survived by her husband, Herman; daughter Judy Eschel of Arlington Heights, ILL.;
step-daughters Donna Austerman of Bartlesville, Okla., and Cheryl Justis Moore of North Carolina;
brother M.S. Parker of Green Valley, Ariz., and a sister, Mary Leach of St. Elmo, III.
Memorials may be made to the Valley Presbyterian Church of Green Valley, Ariz.,
or St.Mary’s Hospice of Tucson, Ariz.

Curtis E. Bechtel, 58, Atlanta, father of Augusta resident Beth Wallingford, died Saturday, May 25.
He was manager of a grain elevator.
His funeral service was held this afternoon at the United Methodist Church in Admire.
Other survivors are wife, Leda; sons, Bryan of Henderson, Neb.; stepmother, Bessie Bechtel of Emporia;
sister, Phyllis Krause of Vancouver, Wash.; two grandchildren.
Crable Funeral Chapel of Eskridge, is in charge of arrangements.
