"Jim" Rawlings funeral at church

James Walter “Jim” Rawlings, 61, Augusta, retired superintendent of the city electric plant,
died Sunday, May 26, at home.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at First Baptist Church, State & Kelly.
Rev. Robert A. Box will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Rawlings was born May 28, 1929, in Augusta to Ruth Winifred (Nelson) and Glen Rawlings.
On Oct. 15, 1950, he married Margaret Varner in Augusta. She survives.
Others survivors include sons and daughter-in-laws,
Michael & Teresa Rawlings and Kevin & Toni Rawlings, all of Augusta; brother,
Scott Rawlings of Lancaster, Calif.; stepbrother, Roger Rawlings of Eldon, Mo.;
grandchildren, Amanda, Will, Kelly, Abby & Trisha, all of Augusta;
stepmother, Nora Rawlings of Augusta.
Rawlings served with the military during World War II.
A memorial has been established with the First Baptist Church Chancel Choir.
Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.

Albert Cooley

Albert H. Cooley, 73, Wichita, father of Douglass resident Terry Cooley, died Thursday, May 23.
He was a retired baker.
His funeral was today at the Fryberger Mortuary, Great Bend.
Other survivors include sons, David and Chris Cooley, both of Great Bend;
daughter, Diane of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Lung Association.

Jane A. Wells

Jane A. Wells, 92, Wichita, sister of Paul Bear of Douglass, died Saturday, May 25.
She was a homemaker.
Her funeral service was Saturday at Hillside Funeral Home in Wichita.
Other survivors include a son, Tom of Wichita;
six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.

Cora V. Carey

Cora V. Carey, 83, sister of Edgar Bostwick of Augusta, died Monday, May 27, in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Her funeral service and burial will be in California.
Carey was born and lived in Jackson County.
She moved to California during World War II and has been living there since.
Additional survivors are brothers, Aubrey Bostwick of Colby, Byron Bostwick of Gardner;
two daughters, and two sons.
She was preceded in death by wo sisters and three brothers

Mable Henry

Mable A. Henry, 86, Leon, died Tuesday, May 28, at the Susan B. Allen Hospital in El Dorado.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Leon United Methodist Church
with Rev. Quentin Bennett officiating. Burial wifi be in the Leon Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 13, 1905 near Augusta as a daughter of Clark and Frances Sinkhom Davis.
On Oct. 8,1924, she and Ralph Henry were united in marriage at El Dorado. He preceded her in death in 1962.
During her lifetime, Mrs. Henry was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church,
the Leon Order of Eastern Star, and a 50-year member of HDU.
She leaves a son, Rogert Kent Henry of Leon, and two grandsons.
The Carlson Funeral Home at El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.
