Lewis C. Coots

Lewis C. “Bud” Coots, 74, Towanda, died Friday, May 31, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service was held today in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel.
Rev. C.M. Howell and Rev. Bill Bullard co-officiated. Burial was in the Towanda cemetery.
He was born July 28, 1916 at Jonesboro, Ark., as a son of Edward and Bertha Coots.
Oh July 30, 1938, he married Mary Kate Tomlinson in a ceremony at Hutchinson.
She preceded him in death in 1970.
Mr. Coots married Mildred L. Darnell in a ceremony at Newk-iric, Okla., on Oct. 7, 1977. She survives.
Other survivors include sons James Coots of Tulsa, Okla., Lindell Coots of Lynden, Wash.,
Eddie Coots of Winfield; stepsons Michael Osborne of Lamed, and Bruce Osborne of Newman, Okla.;
daughters, Mary Lou Taylor of Buckville, Aik:.; Bobby Joe Coots of Jonesboro, Ark.;
13 grandchildren, and 11 grandchildren.
This retired Mobil Oil refinery work was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the
First Baptist Church at Towanda.
Memorials to the church have been suggested.

Anita E. Lee

Anita Evelyn Lee, 30, Lakewood, Colo., died Friday, May 31, of injuries suffered in a traffic accident.
She had many relatives and friends in the Rose Hill area.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, June 5, at the
Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church near Hutchinson.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Rose Hill cemetery.
Visitation at the Elliott Chapel funeral home in Hutchinson will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 4.
Friends may visit the Lee family at the rural Augusta home of Sara and Clee Ralston after the graveside service.
Anita was born April 10, 1961 in Wichita as a daughter of Robert E. and Gracia Harris Lee.
She graduated from Buhler High School and Emporia State University.
She was working as an office manager for the Collins Corp. in Denver, Colo., at the time of her death.
In addition to her parents, she leaves brothers Nathan Lee of Olympia, Wash., Matthew Lee of Wichita,
and Vernon Lee of the home; and a sister, Rosemary, also of the home.

Fred Rierson

Fred C. Rierson, 78, rural Leon, died Fnday, May 31, at his home.
His funeral service will be 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, June 4, at Dunsford Funeral Home chapel here
with Rev. Clyde Stockton officiating and burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 24, 1913 at Gordon to Cassius Byron Rierson and Katherine Hughes Rierson.
On Nov. 14, 1936, he and the former Ruth Pennington were united in marriage at Douglass, she survives.
This farmer was a member of the Webster Country Church. Memorials to the church have been suggested.
Other survivors include sons, Fred Michael Rierson of Leon,
Gary Lee Rierson of Grenola,’ and Roger Dean Rierson of Leon, a daughter, Judith Ann Minton of Augusta;
a sister, Virginia Black of Douglass,
12 grandchildren, and nine great-granchildren.
He was preceded in death by a a daughter, Patricia Stockton in 1983, and a brother, Russell Dean Rierson in 1985.
