Clyde Norton funeral Monday
Clyde Norton, 85, Augusta, died today, July 19, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral service will be 10 o’clock Monday morning, July 22, in the
Dunsford Funeral Home chapel here and burial will be in Towanda Cemetery.
Norton, a retired Mobil Oil pipefitter, was a veteran of World War II. He put in 40 years with Mobil.
He was born Jan. 15, 1906 in Miller, Mo., as a son of Adam Logan Norton and Berthann West Norton.
He married Nadine Reed in a ceremony at Towanda on March 16, 1974. She survives.
He held memberships in the Leonard Whitehill American Legion Post 189,
Mystic Tie Lodge, AF & AM, and Eastern Star Chapter 211.
Norton also leaves two stepdaughters, Beverly McCulloch of Towanda and Rosemarie Richard of El Dorado,
three step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorials to the American Heart Association are suggested.
Fred Kramer
The Rev. Fred Kramer, 88, Springfield, ILL., died Sunday, June 30. He is the father of Elfred Kramer.
Funeral services have already been held.
Rev. Kramer was bom Nov. 20,1902, in Frohna, Mo., the son of Theodore & Matilde Burfeind Kramer.
In 1927, he married Alvina Kohlmeier.
He was a graduate of St. Paul’s Academy and Junior College in Concordia, Mo.
He received his theological training at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo., where he received his
B.D. degree and master of sacred theology degree by the school.
He also earned an M.A. degree in classical literature from the University of Michigan.
Survivors include his wife, Alvina; three other sons, Norman of Springfield, Donald of Fort Wayne, Ind.,
and the Rev. Loren Kramer of Dana Point, Calif.; a daughter, Lois Kusik of Winchester, Mass.;
six grand-children; six great-grandchildren; a brother, William Kramer of St. Louis, Mo.

Hattie I. Watts
Hattie Irene Watts, 99, Douglass, mother of Dean Walls of Augusta, died Saturday, July 20, at
Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral service will begin at 3 0 clock Tuesday afternoon, July 23, at the
Mission Chapel Mausoleum. Rev. Clifford Ryherd of Rose Hill United Methodist Church will officiate
and entombment will follow.
She was born Sept. 14,1891 in Peck as a daughter of Charles A. Roll and Emaline McGaha Roll.
She was a homemaker and member of the Douglass United Methodist Church.
In addition to the son here, she leaves sons Dale Watts of Douglass and Eldon of Wichita;
a daughter, Ramona Rucker of Douglass,
seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and 17 nieces and nephews.
Memorials to the Douglass United Methodist Church have been suggested.
Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Goodwill Industries employee George Richard Mercer, 53, Wichita, died Friday, July 19.
He is the brother of June A. Kittle of Douglass.
Funeral services arc 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mission Chapel Mausoleum, Wichita.
Other survivors include daughters, Debra Lynn, Kimberly Ann, both of Wichita;
brother, Roy D. of Wichita ; one grandchild.
Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements.
