Marguerite Smith
Marguerite (Freeman) Smith 75, Hanceville, Ala., died Tuesday, Aug. 12, while on vacation in Hawaii.
She is a former Augusta resident. Services are pending in Hanceville.
Among the survivors are a sister Sidney Ewalt of Augusta; and an aunt, , Emma Jones of Augusta.

Opal Dowler
Homemaker Opal Josie Dowler, 85, Wichita, died Monday, Aug. 19. She is the mother of Cora B. Rose of Augusta.
There will be a private funeral service.
Other survivors include a son, Charles of Wichita;
three grand-children; six greatgrandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Cochran Mortuary, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements.

Billy Lightcap
Billy Ray Lightcap, 50, Augusta, died Friay, Aug. 16, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Wichita.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Dunsford Funeral Home
here with Rev. Harold Kieler of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was a former animal health products salesman.
Lightcap was born June 25, 1941, in Garden City to Sarah Josephine Jones and Ray William Lightcap.
On April 3, 1976, he married Edna Hufford in Raton, N.M. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Donny Ray of Augusta, Billy Douglas of Oklahoma;
daughter, Cheryl Wilson of Guymon, Okla.; stepson, Elden Doty of San Bernardino, Calif.;
father, Ray of Saquache, Colo.; brothers, Richard of Los Animas, Colo., Clifford of Garden City;
sisters, Dorothy Spurgeon of Los Animas, Betty Spurgeon of Hooker, Okla.; three gradchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
Helen Fetters
Helen A. Fetters, 71, El Dorado, died Friday, Aug. 16. She was the mother of Glenn Fetters of Leon.
Her fimeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at St. John’s Catholic Church, El Dorado.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. tonight at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.
She was a retired cook.
Other survivors include her husband, Charles; sons, Vernon, Terry, both of El Dorado, Delbert of Towanda;
daughters, Darlene Kimbro of Towanda, Thelma Royston of Albion, Mich., Barbara Gillis, Shirley Chastain,
Charlotte Lea, Donna Collier, all of El Dorado, Betty Newmaster of Independence;
seven brothers, three sisters; 35 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with St. John’s Catholic Church.
Alfred Munroe
Alfred Alexander Munroe, 68, Alexandria, Va., died Aug. 13. He was the brother of Robert A. Munroe of Augusta.
His funeral service will be 9 a.m. Tuesday. Aug. 20, at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
Munroe was a retired civil servant with the Department of Treasury and Department of Defense.
He also leaves a sister, Ruth Shenfeld of Glendale, Calif.
Evelyn Crist
Evelyn M. Crist, 85, Joplin, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 15.
She was the aunt of J.W. Crist and Ellen Firebaugh of Augusta.
Her funeral service was Saturday at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Joplin.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Tamko Asphalt Products.
Another survivor is niece, Ethelmae Humphreys of Joplin.
Parker Mortuary, Joplin, is in charge of arrangements.
