Donald Brooks
Donald E. Brooks, 52, Galesburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 28. He was a former Augusta resident.
Funeral services are 10 am Saturday at the Burris-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Parsons.
Brooks is a retired Wichita Southeast Kansas Transit truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Carol J.; sons,- Michael R. of Spring, Texas, Donald Brad, Jerry D, both of Parsons,
Steven G Of Houston, John W. at home, brother, George Daivd of Topeka;
sisters, Virginia Elsworth of Parsons, Susan Graham of Erie-six grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the First Church of the Nazarene.
Cleo C. Hall
Cleo Charlotte Hall, 73, Augusta, died today, Aug. 30, at the home of her son.
Her funeral service will be 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Sept. 3, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel.
Earl Moody will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
This homemaker was born Feb. 16, 1918 in Augusta.
On May 23, 1938, she married Lloyd Hall in a wedding ceremony here. He survives.
In addition to her husband and son Ben, she leaves a daughter, Erma Peters of El Dorado;
a sister, Lillian Stinnett of Augusta; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials to Hospice Inc., 940 N. Waco, P.O. Box 3267,’ Wichita, Kan., 67201-3267,
have been suggested by the family.

Edessa Goll Johnson, 90,
Wichita, sister of John Rhoads of
Douglass, died Thursday, Aug. 29, at the St. Joseph Medical
Center in Wichita.
Her funeral service was held today, Sept. 3, at the West Side
Christian Church. Rev. Jim Allison officiated and burial was in the Waco Cemetery south of Wichita.
She was born Sept. 14, 1900 in
Her first husband, Herman William Goll, preceded her in death in 1963.
Her second husband, Orie Gilbert Johnson, also preceded her in death, dying in 1982.
She was a retired registered nurse and worked at both the Boeing and Cessna aircraft plants in Wichita.
In addition to her brother in Douglass, she leaves a son, Robert Goll of Wichita;
a daughter, Bette Maisoneuve of Colorado Springs, Colo.;
stepsons, Harold Johnson and Merle Johnson, both of Wichita,
Wendall Johnson of Chapel Hill, N.C.; sister, Dorothy Morgan of Wichita;
nine grandchildren, 16-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;
16 step-grandchildren; 22 step-greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to the West Side Christian Church Now & Then Class have been suggested.
The Webb Mortuary at Clearwater was in charge of arrangements.

William Self
William E. “Elzie” Self Sr., 79, Augusta, died Friday, Aug.’ 30, at Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow, Sept. 4, at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita.
Burial will be there.
He was born March 23, 1912 in Poteau, Okla., as a son of A.I. Self and Dottie Lamb Self.
On April 28, 1934, he married the former Virginia Cole in a ceremony at Newton. She survives.
Mr. Self was a retired pumping engineer for Derby Refining Co. and a member of the Wichita Heights Baptist Church.
Other survivors include sons William E. Self Jr. of Wichita, Ai of Santa Rosa, Calif.;
daughters, Betty M. Brooks and Melody R. Lamb, both of Wichita, and Joyce A. Keeling of Haysville;
a sister, Leona Mae Smith of St. Louis, Mo.; a stepbrother, Michael E. Smith,
and a stepsister, Dixie Clark, both of Wichita;
20 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials to the American Heart Association have been suggested.
The Cochran Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
